Weekend Recap: The One With No Sickness

Oh hey Monday, nice to see you again. Too soon as usual. We had a great weekend around here – finally one that didn’t revolve around any of us being sick. HOWS ABOUTS THAT. It was a pretty low key weekend, but according to my reader survey, some of you enjoy reading about what us Ingles are up to in everyday life! So, here we go.

Friday during lunch, Adam took me on a day-date! We went to a fancy little well-known place here in town and we ate way, way too much. We had a gift certificate burning a hole in our pocket so we didn’t hold back. We also were the youngest couple there by about…40 years, but the food was delicious so we just laughed about being old souls. I’m not kidding though – the conversations around us could have been articles in an AARP magazine. We had such a great time though that I didn’t take a single picture.

Friday night we kicked off the weekend with our usual pizza night. We’ve been doing pizza night on Friday nights for years, and years, and now A is always so excited. Especially if we go out for pizza, which rarely happens these days. While our tradition usually started out as being a homemade pizza night, more often than not now that we have two kids, we take advantage of food delivery services like Door Dash and Uber Eats. Anyone else shamelessly love these apps?

Saturday morning, after B had a somewhat rough night of sleep, we slowly got up and all headed to Waffle House and what was actually the coldest morning of the year so far! A’s big reward these days for nighttime potty training are chocolate chip waffles, and after having a dry pull-up every morning last week, we treated her to exactly that. It may seem weird going to Waffle House on the reg, but you guys, you’re missing out! And it’s building such a fun, kind of weird tradition for our little family. Saturday mornings are for waffles and there are no exceptions! Also happy to report there was no puking, praiiiiise.

After Waffle House, we headed to my in-laws to say hi and let A get some energy out, and feed B. We quickly realized that we actually brought two tiny tornados, and proceeded to wreak havoc at the grandparents’ house, ha! That’s what grand kids are for though, right?

Once got home, it was nap time for all, and both kids ended up taking almost 2 hour naps! WHAT. I. KNOW. While they napped, we did all the chores, and checked out a new Netflix documentary, Fyre Festival: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, all about the epic fail that was the Fyre Festival in 2017. Since I work in influencer marketing for my full time job, I really found it fascinating. It just proves how powerful influencers are, and how anything can be marketed if done right.

Saturday night, we laid low and spent the evening playing in the playroom and going to bed way too late. I remember looking around while we were all playing at one point and just thinking, this is it. This is what I’ve always wanted and we are so lucky.

Sunday morning, we headed to church extra early so A could get her ‘donut balls’ and play on the church playground for a bit before service started. During church, she was extra sweet, and patiently waited and waited until it was her turn to put her contribution in the plate during communion. She’s so proud of herself every week and calls it her ‘money for God’. She has the sweetest heart, that one.

After church, we headed back to my in-laws for a delicious lunch, and the kids played and played with their cousins. If there’s one thing A wants to be, it’s big like her big cousins.

Sunday afternoon, A took another great nap, but B fought it and fought it until around dinnertime when he passed out hard for almost two hours! He’s actually been doing pretty good napping in his crib on the weekends, so even if we’re not quite on a schedule yet, I’ll take it.

Sunday night, I worked on a few Beautycounter things for my new ‘venture, and planned out a few posts for the blog for this week. I’m hoping to finally share my reader survey results tomorrow or Weds!

I’m feeling so excited about all things Beautycounter. It’s like I can finally shout from the rooftops how much I love their stuff! If you haven’t already, I’d love for you to ‘like’ my FB page. As soon as I hit 100, I’m planning on a fun little giveaway.

I think that about wraps it up! Weekends always pass too quickly, but I’m feeling optimistic that this is going to be a good, good week! Positivity folks.

How was your weekend? Do anything special? Have you heard of BC?

We used to do pizza Fridays during the summer and I’m not sure how we got away from it but I need to bring it back! Also, I’ve never used door dash or Uber eats. I’m missing out, haha. I really have ordered food to be delivered probably less than 5 times in my life! My parents always picked it up, so I continued it. Way to go A on potty training at night! Annabelle isn’t there at all. I haven’t really been pushing it though. Does she wake up at night to go? Aaron mentioned that to Annabelle now that she has a big girl bed and she got all freaked out haha I watched the fyre festival yesterday on Netflix. I want to watch it on Hulu next. I don’t remember hearing about it at all in the moment but GOSH that was a mess. Ok, longest comment ever, haha! Have a great day!

Yesss you need to try DD or Uber Eats. There are several, and we love them. Adam used to drive for Uber Eats a couple nights a week just for fun! Ha! And A is not 100% nighttime potty trained AT ALL. But, I would most nights during the week she does wake up dry, and we’ve been leaving her gate open so she can get up and go potty and go back to bed if she needs to.
