A little late at posting after being MIA yesterday. We had a bit of a scare, but are doing better today! Adam and I were involved in a pretty significant 3-car pile up on the interstate on the way to work yesterday morning, so our Monday started off on a very scary note. Long story short, we were hit twice from behind, (we were the first car) and luckily the other two drivers had insurance, and were cooperative. We are truly, truly thankful for Toyota, because our car absorbed a huge amount of impact without damaging the backseat at all. Had Adeline been back there, or even Truckee, they would have been perfectly fine. Anyways, we spent the rest of the day in Labor & Delivery having Adeline monitored, and making sure everything was a-ok. She’s fine, we’re fine, and we are very blessed the accident was not worse. Other than being shaken up, and a little freaked out, I’m a little sore and tired, but otherwise feeling great. Adam is also doing just fine, he’s not sore at all from what he’s mentioned. I was advised to take it easy for the next few days, and rest assured baby girl is still doing great. Every time I feel Adeline kick I’m reminded that she’s one tough cookie and God was looking out for all three of us, no doubt. If I wasn’t feeling bonded to her yet, I am now! (In fact, she’s kicking right now as I type this!)
Moving on! I could go into 1,000 details, but would rather not replay the story for the billionth time. But I will say I have the best husband in the world, who calmly handled everything yesterday, and took great care of all three of us.
So, this past weekend was fabulous, and we are already looking forward to a similar one in a few days. And by similar I mean no plans. Just lots of REST. Lord knows we need it after yesterday’s nerve-rattling events. I’m deeming this week the “slow down week”, and I think a few slow evenings on the couch will do me good!
Here’s a quicky photo recap of our weekend. A few words per picture will have to do!
Friday night…pizza night! Homemade spinach/bacon/chicken pizza. Delicious.
Pioneer Woman’s Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sundaes…oh.em.geeze.
This weekend our 3 year photo book came in! I make one every year around our anniversary, mostly of Instagram photos out of convenience. I just figure Instagram photos are more typical of our “everyday” and are often moments we want to remember. This time I used MixBook, and love how their Instagram template turned out.
Side note- the book actually came dented. But, because their customer service is amazing, they’re sending me a new book at no cost!
I finally bit the bullet, channeled my inner girly-girl, and purchased a couple new nail polishes. I then proceeded to paint my finger nails. Who am I???
Annnnnd we turned 6 months prego on Sunday! Partay! Only “3” more months!
And that’s a wrap! Looking forward to a short work week and 4th of July celebrations in a few days!
Now, hug your spouse, and drive safe!!!! Things can happen in a split second!!!!
What are you doing for the 4th? Firework plans?
