The Safe Diapers I Wish We’d Started With: Parasol Review

I received a sample of Parasol diapers and wipes to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.

MAMAS! Listen up, because I feel like I’ve made the best discovery along my journey of motherhood thus far. I’m talking a #momwin like never before. Something I am totally wishing I’d known about when Adeline was a newborn.

Have you heard of Parasol diapers and wipes? I hadn’t either until several months ago when I came across them on Instagram. I’ve been dying to get my hands on some, or rather, Adeline’s bottom in them, and we recently were able to test them out.

Before we go any further, can we just admire how CUTE they are?!

Being a first time mom can be overwhelming. And choosing diapers and wipes can also be overwhelming. There are about a million different options, and everyone has their favorite. However, I’m waving the white flag because I think I’ve officially found my favorite! 17 months later.

Parasol is a diapers and wipes subscription service. Their mission is to create safe and sustainable products for baby that are high quality and super soft. They believe that diapers should be more like disposable underwear – comfortable and absorbent enough for hours of play. Their target shoppers are the adventurous parents, the ones trudging through parenthood at their own pace, forging their own unique path and story with their children, never settling for the status quo.

You guys know I lean a little on the crunchy side when it comes to safe and responsible products. (Like my love for all things Beautycounter) I try really hard to think twice about the products we use, and now I’m finally adding Adeline’s diapers to my list. I’ve tried numerous brands of diapers, and always just settled, until now. Parasol diapers are not only amazing and high quality, but they are safe, and environmentally conscious, leaving as little of a footprint as possible.

Parasol diapers are hypoallergenic, chlorine free, fragrance free, lotion free, and latex free, making them extra safe for baby. They maintain multiple certifications, including PETA Cruelty Free and Vegan, PEFC Forest Sustainability (because they use less wood pulp, gotta save those trees!), and the Nordic Swan Eco Label (the most stringent environmental testing), to name a few. Parasol diapers are also made in the Czech Republic.

“Parasol diapers are made with a specially developed, ultra-soft topsheet layer that truly comforts your child, while our smart Drylock® technology gives you excellent absorption without wasteful and uncomfortable bulk. It’s a thinner, luxuriously softer diaper that just performs better, and made with carefully sourced baby-safe ingredients.”

Parasol wipes are also top of the line, and made right here in the USofA. They are alcohol free, oil free, paraben free, phthalate free, fragrance free, and free of ingredients derived from petroleum. The wipes are insanely soft, seriously they feel like cloth. They’re strong, and thick enough to not feel like you’ve got to call in reinforcements during a dirty diaper. They’re certified hypoallergenic, use certified organic aloe, and are PETA Cruelty Free and Vegan. You can also access the full ingredient list for the wipes, which I LOVE! Mama is all about some safe baby products!

“Our philosophy is that baby-safe products should not mean compromising on anything else, including softness, comfort or quality. The truth is, safe diapers don’t have to be rough and bulky. We’ve created a diaper that is amazingly soft for your baby’s comfort, but only made of quality, baby-safe ingredients you can rest assured about.”

So let’s talk price. What’s a subscription going to cost you?

They have two subscription packages – Diapers + Wipes, or just Diapers. Both subscriptions you can choose how often they’re delivered, anywhere from every 3-6 weeks and you can pick from 3 design sets.

The Diapers + Wipes subscription is $85/month and includes 4 packs of diapers, 3 packs of wipes, and 2 travel size packs of wipes.

The Diapers only subscription is $70/month and includes 4 packs of diapers.

^^ PS A’s little legs look pink on the right because we were playing outside waiting on Daddy to get home 😉  She’s not actually that pink, ha!

Adeline has been loving her new diapers and wipes, and I am seriously impressed. We went with a size 4 to ensure she’d be able to wear them for a while, and I’m glad we did. She could probably easily wear a size 3, but the 4 seems to give her a little extra coverage. The diapers also come up extra high in the back, helping to prevent leakage and the dreaded blowout. So far, we haven’t had any issues. We also haven’t had any issues with diaper rash, and Adeline is SUPER prone to diaper rashes so I’m always a little nervous trying new diapers. These are fantastic though, and by far the softest and most flexible ones we’ve ever used. They’re not kidding about them being absorbent too – I feel like her wet diapers are much harder to spot because they just don’t get poochy and bulky like other diapers do when they’re wet!

Parasol diapers are for sure worth looking into, and the next baby we have will definitely be wearing these more often! As a mom, you want to feel good about the choices you make for your baby, and I really think these diapers are one of those little things you can actually feel good about.

We had tried Honest too – Parasol are waaay softer and more absorbent. At least we thought so, you may think so too! You should give them a try!

These diapers are so cute 🙂 I really wish things like this weren’t double the cost of your regular brand diapers, or I would be all over it. I understand why they are, but still. BUT, I did sign up to get a free trial so at least I can put R in a couple. They are fun!

A Diaper or a nappy is a type of underwear that allows the wearer to defecate or urinate without the use of a toilet, by absorbing or containing waste products to prevent soiling of outer clothing or the external environment.

These diapers are extremely disappointing. After wearing them through a few pees the absorbent filling completely clumped up and shifted to the bottom of the diaper leaving nothing in the front to absorb more pee. I have never seen this in a diaper before! I prefer Honest Company and Aleva to these.

I’m sorry you had that experience! We never experienced anything like that before with Parasol and were always very pleased. Maybe contact the company directly?
