Hey everyone! While I wait for dinner to cook, I’m typing up a blog post all about something I’m super excited about! Several months ago I heard about the Hot Chocolate Race Series and knew I had to check it out! I mean, hello, running AND chocolate? Did they design this race series just for me? I think they did. I quickly jumped on their site to see where the nearest race location was. I figured it wouldn’t be coming to Little Rock since it’s a fairly new series, but I figured between Nashville and Dallas there had to be one! I was in luck, and it is coming to Nashville, TN on Saturday, February 15th!

When I was checking out their site, I noticed that they had an ambassador program. I immediately pulled up the contact information, and sent in my request!

And guess what, I was accepted!

I am officially a Hot Chocolate 15K/5K blog ambassador, for “America’s Sweetest Race!” I will be promoting the race, handing out a promo code, and encouraging YOU to sign up! This would be a perfect FIRST race for someone, or a perfect PR race for a seasoned runner! (In case you were wondering, a 15K is approximately 9.3 miles, and a 5K is 3.1)

I was sent some pretty cool swag, and I can’t wait to rock it!

Here are some more details straight from hotchocolate15k.com!

The race location will be Bicentennial State Park (near the capitol).

5K START time is 7:00 am

15K START time is 7:55 am

Here is the race course…basically it starts at the park, then goes down 6th and 2nd, then up Broadway, down West End, into Centennial Park, and back! (for the 15K) Off the top of my head, it’s a fairly flat course, except for a small stretch of Broadway!

There will be 4 aid stations on the 15k course, and 1 on the 5k course, along with porta-johns available.

You must be able to complete your race in at least a 15 min/mile pace. If you plan to walk either course, walk fast and you will be fine!

Don’t just mark your calendar for race day, but there will also be an Expo! The expo is where you will pick up your packet/goodie bag, get your bib and your chip timer, and shop around for awesome race day merchandise! And of course, there will be plenty of hot chocolate!

Times and Location for Expo/Packet Pickup:

Thursday, Feb 13: 3pm-8pm

Friday, Feb 14: 10am-8pm

Renaissance Nashville Hotel in the Broadway Ballroom

Curious about that goodie bag/race packet? Check it out, because you won’t want to miss this!

That’s right! This fleece pullover IS your race packet! How sweet is that?? If this is your first 15K or 5K, this would be an awesome souvenir to celebrate your achievement and show others around you what you accomplished!

Ok, now let’s talk about cost.

The 5K, up until February 2nd, is $40.00 and after that is $45.00.

The 15K, up until February 2nd, is $64.00 and after that is $69.00.

Hot Chocolate 15/5K is also raising money for a local charity- the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville.

You can sign up to be a fundraiser, and possibly win some prizes along the way. Training for a CAUSE can be extra motivating! You can read more details HERE.

Remember that promo code I told you about?

When you register, enter in NASHMUG5 and you will receive the cutest Hot Chocolate coffee mug in your goodie/race packet!

It’s adorable (or manly if you’re a dude) and I’ve already used it at work several times. One side has the race logo and the other has “WILL RUN FOR…chocolate”

It’s so great, even Miss Truckee loved it.

She makes it so difficult to take photos. But she told me to tell you that it’s the best travel coffee mug ever.

So what do you think? Looking for a fun Valentine’s day weekend date? Do you love running AND chocolate? Was your New Year’s Resolution to run your first race? (or walk/jog)

This is a race you don’t want to miss! It’s going to be fantastic!

I will be there, will you?!

I tried to use the promo code for the mug but it stated that it was invalid so I had to use the hat code! Please let me know if that gets fixed- I would much prefer the mug to hat! Thanks

Hi! You are correct, the mug was the 2014 code and the hat is the 2015 code. It isn’t either/or 🙂
