Pregnancy: Week 24

Happy ThurFriday! We’re off work tomorrow so today is officially being deemed a Friday! Who’s excited about a little break?!

I am starting my morning off with a fantastic playlist from Spotify, which I’ve linked below, and I’m ready to cruise through the work day and into the weekend! We’ve got lots of rest scheduled, and a few fun projects we might tackle. Isn’t that what long weekends are for?

So it’s time for another update! I’m sorry if this blog has lately turned to 90% pregnancy, but just a few more months and we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming!

If you would like to keep up with any past pregnancy posts, they can all be found HERE.

Let’s get to it.

24 weeks pregnant bumpdate

We are 24+4 today, just like most weekly updates. Miss Adeline is definitely growing, and she’s been moving more and more. Last night I think she was doing aerobics in my belly, and Adam was able to feel and see her move several times after dinner! A welcome sign after Monday, for sure. I think she is doing just fine!

At the hospital on Monday, I was up 13 lbs from the day we found out we were expecting. 11 if we go by my first Dr’s appointment.  So I’m pretty sure I am right on track, and feeling much better about keeping enough food in me!

Most of my cravings and aversions have lifted, though I’m still not crazy wild about overly sweet things. I can do small portions, but anything more than a little serving and I’m plenty satisfied. I have however been “craving” more salads and vegetables. Last night we had grilled salmon, squash, zucchini, and salad and it was delicious. It feels so, so good to eat healthy foods again, and I know it’s my body’s way of telling me what it needs!

No obvious stretch marks yet, wedding rings are still on, and belly button is completely flat. I’m hoping I’ll know when it’s time to take my rings off and I don’t wait too long and get them stuck! They really are only super tight if I haven’t had enough water or if I’ve been outside in the heat. I guess that could be descriptive of the rest of the summer though, so I’m pretty sure at some point I’m going to have to part ways with them.

When we were at L&D on Monday, the nurse said based on the monitor that I had had a few Braxton Hicks contractions. Of course, I had no idea and hadn’t felt anything that would have been indicative of that, but needless to say in the coming weeks I might start noticing them here or there! Crazy!

These weeks are seriously flying by, and I feel like every week I wake up and it’s already Sunday again. We still have so much to do, and my to-do list is slightly overwhelming! But, every time I walk in Adeline’s room I can’t help but just imagine what it’s going to be like to walk in there and see HER. It just makes me want to cry I’m so excited!!!

And FYI, if you’ve been pronouncing Adeline’s name like AdaLYNN, you are not the first. Adeline is pronounced just like it’s spelt, with a long “i”, like the word “line” or “time.” It’s basically Madeline without the M. Apparently we picked a name that’s confusing to some, ha!

I think that about sums up this week! Just 16 more weeks to go!

Here’s the Spotify playlist I mentioned, if you are in need of some morning jams 🙂

Have a great rest of your day! I’m not sure if I’ll be checking in this weekend or not, we’ll see! Happy 4th if not!

Whoo hoo! You are moving right along girl! I didn’t know you were in a car accident, so scary! Glad everything is okay with you and baby girl.

You know I have been loving my salt this pregnancy, but Friday I was craving ice cream so I had Tim buy us a half gallon. Well, less than a week later, said half gallon is already gone! That might be the last time I allow ice cream in the house for the rest of the pregnancy 😉 Haha it suddenly tasted so good!
