EWAHM + Cubii Under-Desk Elliptical Review

Hello hello! Here we are again at the start of another week! How was your weekend?!

Today I’m sharing what might be, dare I say, my FAVORITE thing I’ve gotten to review on the blog!

Introducing: Cubii Smart Under-Desk Elliptical

Recently, the makers of Cubii reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing their under-desk elliptical. Of course, being a busy working mom who is trying her darndest to reclaim her pre-baby bod, an under-desk elliptical couldn’t have come at a better time! Exercising while I work?! IS THE SKY BLUE?! Talk about being productive! I’ll officially have a new title – EWAHM: Exercising Work At Home Mom. Now, if I can pull off working, eating, exercising, drinking my coffee, AND pumping at the same time, I’ll be set. Sky’s the limit, ya’ll.

I was hoping I would have received this while I was still at my old job so I could test it out in my office, but now that my home is my office, my kitchen table will have to suffice. Thankfully though, the Cubii is very portable so I can move it to wherever my desk is for the day! (side-note: I would not normally recommend running shoes paired with jorts, but #momlife.)

Ok, so let’s get to the details of this fun little gadget. I snapped it briefly yesterday, so be sure and follow me (@sarah_ingle1) to see it in action in the future!

We all know how terrible sitting 8 hours a day is, which is why standing desks and fitness trackers are becoming all the rage. But, Cubii’s under-desk ellipticals are a great alternative because they allow you to burn even more calories and stay active throughout the day. How active are we talking exactly? They claim you can burn up to 150 calories an hour! That may not sound like a ton, but it’s way better than the zero calories you typically burn sitting on your butt all day.

The elliptical is much more ergonomic than other under-desk peddlers or bikes making for a more comfortable “ride”, and it’s super quiet so your coworkers will never know you’re exercising. The motion feels exactly like your typical elliptical – very smooth, and easy on the knee joints.

They also have an app that you can pair with your elliptical, similar to how you can with Fitbit, and you can track your calories burned in real time, log your workouts, and compete with your fellow Cubii friends. I could see this becoming a hilarious inner office competition!

Adam set up the app on his phone last night and we had a blast watching him burn calories while we ate dinner!

The knob in the middle is for adjusting the resistance – there are 8 different levels. We both agreed level 6 or 7 was the sweet spot.

Now, to help you get started with your own Cubii because I know you’re dying to try it too, they’ve offered Sweet Miles readers 10% off and FREE shipping. Just use THIS link and they’ll get you all set up!

Here’s to encouraging a less sedentary lifestyle!

I’ll be back tomorrow for a weekend update. Enjoy your Monday, friends!

Have you heard of Cubii? Would you try an under-desk elliptical? How many hours a day do you sit?

Oh my gosh I never even knew something like this existed! So cool. I sit way too much at work and school but this would be so handy to have while getting work done!

So, I have been back and forth on these. Initially someone approached me about reviewing one and I thought it was kind of nerdy / ineffective. But seeing you use it and the fancy schmancy app it syncs with…I’m intrigued. Plus I DO like the idea of burning something over burning nothing sitting on my butt. I actually and DYING to have a treadmill desk (#dreams) but I think this could be a great compromise!

I completely agree, and was the same way! I was really interested to see if it was actually pointless or not. But, I’m not even kidding, I just texted Adam after using it for a little bit this morning and was like, my heart is pounding and I’m seriously starting to warm up! It may not be a huge calorie burn, but I can definitely feel my legs working, my thigh muscles working, and my heart rate going up! You should look into it! I would LOVVVVEE treadmill desk, #dreams for sure!!!

What a really good idea! I have never seen one of these. Nice product that fits in the space between a full treadmill or exercise desk and nothing at all.
