Adeline and the Fox Sweater: Tiny Fashionista

You know, sometimes I look at Adeline and I think she looks like a baby. Sometimes I look at her and think she looks like a full fledged toddler. And other times, I look at her and think glwosdlknzsdgoiurasgjlkjco because I can’t put into actual words what I’m thinking because it still blows my mind that I’m even a MOM to begin with. And HER mom at that. Like, I still think it’s crazy that at one point in time, I had absolutely no idea what she would look like, or who she would be. Isn’t that amazing? And now she’s here and I feel like I’ve always known her. This motherhood stuff, it’s weird, I’m tellin’ ya! Is it annoying that I keep saying these things? Because I’m still wondering when I’ll reach the point where my mind isn’t blown on an everyday basis.

So on Black Friday, I splurged and bought Adeline some fun new pieces for her wardrobe. Two things I just haaaaaad to have were these hot pink corduroy bell bottom pants, and grey fox sweater. We’ve always called Adeline our little fox, and one of my favorite prints in her nursery is a framed burlap piece that says, “Dream Big Little One” with a little fox all curled up asleep. Even the first stuffed animal we bought her when we were pregnant was a fox that we found while we were in San Diego. Anyways, foxes are kind of her thing, so this sweater was just perfect. And bell bottomed pants, I mean, come on. I think every little girl needs a hot pink pair for herself. The next person I know who has a baby girl just might receive a pair at their baby shower from me!

A couple weeks ago I had some spare time during my lunch break so I took Adeline over to the park to play. She wore her hot pink cords and fox sweater, and I grabbed my camera on the way out the door just in case she was in the mood for pictures! (Contrary to popular belief, she isn’t always!) Before we hit the playground, we did a quick little photo shoot and this little goober ham’d it up the entire time. She’s basically a fashion blogger in the making. Lolz JK not really, but just look! She’s got the “casually look down, now look at my sleeve like I’m pondering something, then look away like there’s not a camera nearby, then fake laugh” TOTALLY DOWN PAT! Such a little fashionista.

I never knew how much fun it would be to dress my own kiddo. Dressing Adeline is seriously just the sweetest thing ever and such a dream come true. I just love it so much! Of course, everyone always says dressing a girl is “way more fun”, but I still find myself daydreaming about the future, wondering if we’ll ever have a boy to fancy up! It kind of makes me sad to hear people say that all the time, or “you’re so lucky you have a girl to dress up”, but I feel like I would have loved dressing a little boy just as much! Seeing my two new nephews this week has me itching for some blue one day! Only God knows what’s in store for our family down the road, and if Adeline ever has a baby brother OR a sister, I can already envision matching outfits! I’m 99% sure we’re destined for a family of all girls though! Oh geeze, don’t get any ideas people, that probably sounds like I have baby fever. No, no, quite the opposite! Ha! You’re gonna have to keep on waitin’ I’m afraid!

Happy Tuesday!

Gah she’s too cute. I love fox stuff too, especially for room decor. I love the ones of her lifting her shirt up and her belly. I basically feel EXACTLY like you do about the toddler stage. The not being able to describe how you feel thing is how I feel most days too. Just at a loss for words because I think my daughter is so cute and I don’t know how she’s mine and how was she JUST a baby but now she’s saying words what the heck!?!?!?

I think dressing boys is so adorable, too! I do love dressing Annabelle, though 😉 I’m seriously so impressed you can still get her to stand still for pictures AND smile. Ugh I’ve given up, haha
