4.5 Miles: I Want Those Legs

Last night I headed back to the gym for another run. As tired as I was, and as NOT in the mood as I was, I knew I needed to or else I’d regret it. I feel like I ate junk food all weekend so come Monday night, I felt like my body was craving a good sweaty workout!

I used my Monday night favorite, Dancing With The Stars, as my motivation and cranked out 4.5 miles in what felt like a flash. Watching DWTS while running is surprisingly great motivation. Pretty sure I have girl envy over all of the pro dancer’s legs! I know I’m not the only one here.

My goal was to negative split again, no matter how long it took. I impressed myself though, and felt pretty good! Splits were 9:50, 9:40, 9:30, 9:13/9:05. I walked .15 between each mile to drink some water and stretch my left calf because it kept cramping, ah! I’m definitely getting faster and back in shape though, so hooray for that! And you know what? It feels GOOD!

cute running leggings

I wore my Pins to Kill leggings and was very impressed! I’d worn them before, but not for a run. While they’re not necessarily for running, they performed great and I didn’t have any issues with them!

I’m really wanting to get back into strength training – I’m just honestly always so intimidated by everyone at the gym that I talk myself out of it after every run. I know that’s silly, or maybe it’s just lazy, but maybe tonight will be the night.

Do you have a resistance band at home? YOu could crank out so much at home with strength training!! I have some dumbbells at home and that’s how I get in my workouts. But 4.5 miles?! Girl you are killing it!!

I’ve got some dumbbells, but no resistance bands! That’s a GREAT idea though!!! I just honestly don’t know hot to use them haha

Way to go! You’re definitely getting there. I agree with the resistance bands. I have some from my stint in physical therapy and they work wonders!
