Thank you for all of the sweet words and well wishes on my last post about the tornado on Sunday. It was definitely scary, but we are so thankful that it hit a little further north. And really, that’s a hard statement to make when so many people just a few miles from us are suffering unbelievable loss and grief, and I hate to think that for some reason God chose to change their lives instead of ours. It’s heartbreaking to read the stories of the lives that were lost, and we’re all praying for peace and comfort for their families that did survive. Arkansas is pulling together though, and it’s been amazing to see how fast all of the support started to roll in! And even though AR was hit pretty hard, don’t forget about our neighbors in MS, AL, and TN that were also hit. They need just as many, if not more, prayers at this time as well!!
Ok, let’s think happy thoughts now!
I went to the lake tonight and enjoyed a quick 5k, even though it was still ridiculously windy. My 10k is this Saturday, so it’s crunch time! Anyone else doing the Toad Suck Run?! I’m probably not as trained for this as I’d like to be, but I’m thinking that since the weather is going to be nice, I will be okay!
Here were my splits…I turned it more into a speed work session, since I clearly won’t be running these splits on Saturday!

Or maybe, but I doubt it! I stopped and grabbed some water between miles 2 and 3, and actually I am still enjoying my samples of Ignite Naturals Electrolytes! LOVING the dragon fruit mix!
Even though it was extra windy, I was able to get some sun on those pale legs of mine. The summer runner tan has begun! I also wore a super cute non-slip headband from MaxFlow Sports. How cute is the houndstooth pattern?? Be sure and check out their site, they’re pretty affordable, and are one of my go-to headbands! Do they really stay on? Yes! At least on my head they do!
What do you do with your old race bibs and medals?
Earlier today I started thinking that I needed to do something with all of my old race bibs and medals. And then I saw that my friend made a super cute homemade display for her’s, and now I’m even more motivated to do something myself! I’d say it’s about time..my bibs have been stashed away in a plastic box ever since my first half in 2010, and for all I know they’re collecting dust on top of that! My medals are currently hanging from our coat rack in our entryway, and that needs to change because every time I hang up something they cling and clang against each other.
I hopped on Pinterest and pinned a few ideas for inspiration. I’ll let you know what I decide on! Maybe I’ll make this my little weekend project.
Here is my friend’s display. Love what she painted, and I think it’s going to look so cute in her house! And those knobs are so fun, I might have to hit up Hobby Lobby soon!
I liked this one for the fun colors and the fun knobs as well. And the clips seem pretty easy to use.
This one is just using a piece of wire to string the bibs on. Seems fairly easy, and you could quickly flip through them all!
Love that this one is on a chalkboard, and you can write goals and inspiration on top!
I would probably never do something like this wall display, but I love the quote, and thought it was fun! I think if I lived alone, a shrine to my running accomplishments would be more appropriate.
Using a curtain rod to frame out the display seems genius. What an easy way to hang medals around another collage!
This one might be my favorite. I think an old piece of wood, or a piece from a pallet, with either some letters glued on or something painted, would be so unique and rustic!
And of course, the basic shadowbox. Always a good choice!
I’ve got lots of great ideas, and now I just need to brainstorm which method will work best! I’ve seen bibs with a hole punched in them and then strung onto a binder ring also, and that seems like a quick fix. I’m also kind of thinking about laminating my bibs?? Is that weird? I don’t want them to fall apart over time, especially the most important ones!
Thoughts? What have you done with your old bibs? Are they on some type of display or hook, or are they taped or glued to the back of a door or wall? I’d love to hear your ideas! Leave me a good idea and I’ll share it everyone later on!
**All of these images were found on Pinterest…I do not have the exact source of each, but if you search “running bib ideas” or something similar on Pinterest, these will all come up!**
