Weekend Recap: Twinning, Park Time, and New Toys

And just like that, another weekend has passed! ANOTHER ONE! Seriously, wasn’t it just last weekend?? Time is going by too quickly these days.

This weekend was full of making memories, playing, and sticking to our usual weekend routine. I feel like my weekend recaps are about as monotonous as our weekends tend to be, but I’m trying to embrace it and accept that this is just the season of life we’re in right now. And besides, I wouldn’t trade a lazy weekend chasing Adeline around for anything!

So let’s recap a bit, shall?

Like most Fridays, Adeline stayed home with me while I worked. I love our Fridays together, and while it’s usually “survival mode”, it’s fun having my little corocker around all day. She destroys the house, but I let it slide.

She’s been loving her new wooden camera I got her! I’M COMPLETELY OBSESSED. Her mother’s photographer heart is completely in love.

Friday evening, I took us for another 2 mile stroll around the lake, which brought our weekly strolling mileage to 6 miles. Not gonna lie, I’m totally ok with this late afternoon sunshine! My arms are loving the sunshine…hello tan!

Friday night after Adam got home, we headed out for a family date night. On a whim before eating dinner, we stopped in at a new bookstore (Books a Million!) and Adeline was in HEAVEN. Of course the first book she pulled off the shelf was Walter the Farting Dog. Not sure if I should be proud or worried.

Saturday looked about like this ^^

Buuuut we twinned in our matching Chuck Taylors.

And Adeline wore the cutest freaking space t-shirt I’ve ever seen. If that doesn’t scream playground outfit, I don’t know what does!

For lunch, we all split a healthy helping of barbecue. Adeline is officially a rib eater! She’s hilarious. She was evening dipping my french fries in the beans, and sneaking pork off my plate.

Saturday afternoon I took Adeline on another long 2 mile walk, and we played in the flowers before meeting Daddy at the playground. This girl lovvvvves the playground, but she’s getting quite brave and I would be lying if I said she didn’t make me nervous!

Saturday night I ventured out to my first consignment sale. In Arkansas, there are HUGE children’s consignment sales, like year ’round, but I’ve never been to one. I decided to go check it out and I’m SO glad I did! I ended up only spending $42 but coming away with 5 adorable toys, and a pair of jelly sandals. I am keeping everything hidden from Adeline to reveal to her slowly, instead of giving it all to her at once. But I did go ahead and give her the phone, and Elmo. She FREAKED OUT when she saw Elmo in her chair Sunday morning! Like, freak out. It was absolutely adorable, and she’s been carrying him around every since. Side note – this is not just any Elmo. This is a fully interactive, talking Elmo. Seriously, it’s so cute!!

Sunday morning when I went to wake up Adeline before church, she was burying herself under her blankets. She is the snuggliest little thing ever. She’s slept with blankets in her crib for what seems like forever, and just loves to cuddle them! Disclaimer to anyone out there freaking out: in between this picture, she was moving them away from her face playing peekaboo and laughing.

She played her heart out in the nursery, and in true Sunday fashion, she fell asleep on the way home and melted my heart all the way inside.

Every Sunday I look forward to her sleepy snuggles as we carry her inside for her nap. I just love them so much and I never remember to document them!

And we twinned again! Jean jackets for the win!

Our weekends may consist of 99% the same routine week after week, but they sure are memorable.

One BIG thing I did this weekend was clean out my closet. I’ll be talking about it more later this week though!

How was your weekend? Do anything fun? Have you consignment sale shopped lately? Do you clean out your closet regularly?

That consignment sale sounds awesome! I always have trouble reconciling buying things I know my little guy will only be into for a couple of months, that seems like a great alternative. I’m going to search and see if we have anything similar here in Austin. Love the twinning outfits ๐Ÿ™‚

It was awesome! She’s still loving what I got her! Definitely WAY more budget friendly…esp like you said, since they’re growing so fast and will just move on in a few months anyways!

Love all the matching stuff! I would totally make my kid match me if I had a little girl lol. Her pigtails are just too cute.
