Hello again! How was your weekend??
I spent mine at home for the most part, and was finally able to conquer a few chores I’d been putting off for several weeks. Let’s start with Friday night.
Friday night I literally laid on the couch all night, watched Lifetime, and then went to bed and read until midnight. Now that the marathon is over and my mind isn’t reeling with thoughts on training, I’ve turned a new leaf and tried this new fangled thing called “RELAXING.” Saturday morning I slept in a bit, then headed to Panera to meet the girls from our life group at church. We brunched, chatted, and soaked up some much needed girl time. It was wonderful, and I was thankful I was finally in town to make an appearance!
After brunch, I headed home and again crashed on the couch to finish writing THIS blog post. I had some help as usual.
That afternoon, I met up with another friend of mine for a puppy play date! We headed out to Two Rivers Park and staked our claim on a large empty field so the pups could run off-leash. Truckee absolutely loves her new gal-pal Clover, who is the cutest goldendoodle puppy ever! They ran and ran and ran, playing fetch and tiring themselves out. I was so proud of how gentle and sweet Truckee was, and I know she had so much fun socializing! Sometimes I still really wish we’d let her have puppies, she would have been such a great mother!
After about an hour or a half or so, both pups were exhausted and I headed home with Truckee. She pretty much passed out HARD and slept the rest of the weekend.
Saturday night, Adam and I went out for a date night and finally saw American Sniper. It’s a must see. An absolute must. Bradley Cooper was beyond phenomenal, and a silent, packed theater when it was over said it all – the movie touched, and left everyone speechless. I was once again reminded of how blessed we are to live in the country that we do, and how thankful I am for the many men and women who fight for our freedom everyday.
After the movie, we walked across the street to our favorite local dinner spot – Local Lime. They have the best tacos, nacho, salsa, drinks, etc. They basically win at mexican/southwest food in Little Rock. We eat here sometimes once a week!
We had a pretty late dinner, so we headed home afterwards.
Sunday morning, we went to church, then hurried home so we could get started on chores. I went on a crazy laundry rampage and did 7 loads!! And I still need to do probably 3 loads tonight. I don’t even know how this happens. Why do we have so many clothes?? And we had two laundry baskets full of dirty clothes that I swear had been sitting around since last year – full of sweatpants, sweatshirts, old pajamas, and towels that we just hadn’t needed or touched. I’m determined to wash every single piece of dirty laundry in the house and start February off with NO cleans on the floor, and everything neatly hung and clean in the closet. Wish me luck.
I was also finally able to finish framing my Lake Tahoe poster, and I can’t wait to get it hung in the guest room and finish the makeover! I think it turned out great! I had to trim several inches off with an exact-0 knife, so that was a bit of a pain, but two and a half years later it’s finally done.
The rest of Sunday night was spent cleaning, grocery shopping, watching SNL, and listening to this one snore on the couch…
She leads a rough life.
That about wraps it up! I’ll be back tonight with the details of our DIY pallet entryway table that Adam built!
How was your weekend? Have you seen American Sniper yet? What is your favorite mexican food? Do you take your dog on play dates?
