Oh Monday. Here you are again. You always seem to pop back up quicker than I’d like. This was the busiest weekend we’ve had in a while, probably since we’ve been here, and we felt a little like tourists in our own new town. One of our good friends from our old church in Little Rock came to spend the weekend with us so we gave her the full Fort Worth treatment! Well, kind of. We showed her downtown Fort Worth, then pretty much showed her everything we do on a regular basis. What’s more real than real life, anyways?
I didn’t take many pictures, but I shared most of the weekend on Instagram. Here’s a quick recap with what I do have, picture by picture style because #monday and #notenoughcoffee.
Friday we decided we were all 100% over summer. It was SO hot all weekend, but thankfully this week it’s supposed to officially cool down!
Chelsea got in town Friday around dinnertime, so as soon as we could all get ready we headed straight to our favorite pizza place in downtown Roanoke.
Saturday morning, we went straight down to Fort Worth to Sundance Square. Adeline loved watching the fountains while we sat in the shade with our Starbucks treats. Downtown FW is so nice!
We also saw Bass Hall, which Adam grew up going to see shows at. The angels and their gold trumpets are beautiful! I’ve heard such great things about the theater and I can’t wait for us to go see a show there sometime! We also drove by the Fort Worth Water Gardens and the Stockyards before heading home for nap time. While Adeline napped, Chelsea and I hit up Target.
Saturday night, Adam’s parents babysat Adeline so we took Chelsea to a typical Texas barbecue dinner where we stuffed our faces. After dinner, we walked around our favorite outdoor shopping center and enjoyed the weather as it got dark. I stumbled across this adorable book and decided Adeline is going to have to have it! She’s going to be Wonder Woman for Halloween and this book has so many cute lessons in it.
We also picked up popsicles for dessert. Holy yum.
Sunday morning we went to church, then breakfast at Breadwinner’s Cafe. I was a bad blogger and forgot to snap a picture of our breakfasts but trust me when I say that place is AMAZING.
Chelsea headed home around lunchtime when Adeline went down for her nap. And Sunday night, we went to dinner for our nephew’s birthday, before heading home to snuggle with Adeline before bedtime.
She is such a snuggle bug lately, and I LOVE it.
And here we are! Ready to take on another week.
What did you do all weekend? Highlight? Lowlight?
