Weekend Recap: Grandparent Love + The Rustic Paci

Happy Tuesday!

In true Monday fashion, yesterday was a hot mess and before I knew it the work day was over, Adeline was in bed, and I was headed to the gym for a super sweaty workout. I usually like to pop in on Sunday nights before bed and draft up a post for Monday, but lately I’ve drastically reduced the amount of time I spend on social media and on my laptop at night, and blogging sometimes just needs to wait. I’ll talk more about my social media break in a future post, but it’s been so, so good for my soul! I never knew how big of a distraction it was until I deleted several apps off my phone, and my how it’s made a difference! For. Realz.

So this weekend my parents came to visit! To say Adeline was excited would be an understatement. I think she would have run THROUGH the front door if she could when she saw them walking up our boardwalk. She just about turned herself inside out, giddy with excitement and squeals and it was the sweetest thing! I love that she’s at the age where she really knows her family members! Toddlerhood is the best. Forget those boring newborn days man, this is so much more fun!

We spent the weekend mainly around the house, just soaking up time together. Adeline was plenty spoiled, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. We shopped ’till we dropped, ran around the park, played and played at the house, and soaked up tons of extra kisses and hugs. I’ll keep it short and sweet, but here’s a brief recap of our happenings! A sentence or two per picture style, because this mama is tired. Anyone else need a day to recover from the weekend? Or maybe just a day to recover from being toddler’d all weekend.

My parents got in town Friday around lunch time, and I took the afternoon off to play!

Ignore our foggy window (it’s on the to-do list, mmk?), but Adeline has been obsessed with her purse lately and wants to carry it with her everywhere.

We ate lunch, and spent some time coloring with Grammy before heading to the park on what was of course, the WINDIEST day of the year. It went undocumented, but Adeline showed off her favorite slides and stairs before we decided our eyes were full of pollen.

Saturday morning, before heading to breakfast, we woke up nice and early and had story time with Daddy in bed. (Moments like this don’t exactly help the baby fever, #amiright)

Saturday we made a big family trip to Target (to spoil Mommy for her birthday) but we ended up spoiling someone else. I won’t name names. When we got home, Adeline semi-napped and spent the afternoon playing with Grammy and P Daddy.

Adeline loves her little play table so much, and showed off her coloring skills all weekend! If you weren’t already aware, Jumbo Crayola crayons are the besssssst.

We watched a Winnie the Pooh movie – which is strangely the only way to get Adeline to SIT STILL.

Before dinner, my mom and I took a long walk with Adeline and she ended up falling asleep. She hasn’t fallen asleep in the stroller in months!! When she woke up, Adam went to pick up dinner and pretty soon it was bedtime.

On Sunday morning, my parents joined us for church, and I’m so glad they did because it ended up being a WONDERFUL service! Adeline loved having Grammy and P Daddy as her special guests.

After church, we headed to a quick lunch before saying our goodbyes! Side-note about goodbyes – Adeline just recently started waving waving, like princess waving. It’s adorable and she waves “bye” to everything and everyone, or “hi” accompanied with a very loud and squeaky, “HI!!”

On the way home, Adeline passed OUT. I carried her inside asleep, and after she fought it and fought it and fought it, she fell back asleep for a nearly 3 hour nap before time for small group.

At small group, Adeline wreaked havoc, yelled way too loud, and ran around like crazy chasing her little boyfriend. These two are the only little ones in our small group so they are quickly becoming besties!

Lastly, I finally opened up my new shop! Er, semi-shop. More like, side-side-side-side hustle. I’ve always LOVED the one leather paci clip we have, and I finally just taught myself how to make a simplified version of them. I am selling them for $5 plus shipping, or free local pickup. To see more, follow @therusticpaci on Instagram! Adeline wears a pink one almost everyday!

They’re all a skinny style, probably 6-8″ in length. The clips work great, and keep them securely fastened to clothing.

Right now, I’m just doing PayPal, but if there’s a big enough interest I might open an Etsy shop. But honestly, I just want to keep it as simple as possible for now. With PayPal you can send/receive money using their Friends & Family setting, which means PayPal won’t charge either party. Works for me! If you’re interested in a paci clip, feel free to either comment, DM on Instagram, or shoot me an email!

I think that about wraps it up! I can’t even believe it’s almost April – someone please slap me because time could not be moving any freaking faster!!

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing another Bizzy Bean Clothing original, so be sure to check back! It’s coral + wildflower perfection! Pinky promise. And later this week, a BOWTIFUL bow giveaway! (Emma from the Wiggles, anyone??)

How was your weekend? Taken any social media breaks lately? What upcoming spring weekend festivity are you looking forward to?

I have so many thoughts on this ha. I LOVE that she is so into your parents. I always wonder when grandparents aren’t around all the time how kids react but it sure shows that she loves them! I am loving the paci holders! I may be ordering one or two for the little one 😉 A doesn’t use her pacifier except naps and sleep (always has) so I have never needed one! And the social media. Girl I did it last weekend and loved it. Like really learned how much time I spend on it. I sadly put on the apps on my phone nad am on it more than I’d like again, but still not so much. I’m thinking I’ll be deleting them again. I just dont need to be glued to it all the time.

Grandparents are the absolute best 🙂 I love the picture of Adeline coloring with her Grammy, it melts my heart! Those pacifier clips are beautiful! Our little guy never took to the paci for some reason, but if he had, I’d definitely be getting one.

This is so sweet! Grandparent time is so important. 🙂 I remember all the memories I had with my grandparents growing up, and I hope Jack can have a close relationship like that too!

Buel is obsessed with saying hi and bye lately too, but NEVER when asked. He prefers to wave when asked, which is equally hilarious and frustrating.
