Happy Monday!
Here we are again, starting yet another work week. I’m finding myself dreading these “long” weeks more and more, but I also know that come Friday, it will have felt like it flew by!
Just popping in real quick to share a few things we accomplished this weekend, and check them off my to-do list!
My parents came in town Friday night, met us for dinner, then we spent the rest of the evening prepping our Saturday morning game-plan. The main thing on our agenda this weekend was to head to Target, pick up as many last minute registry needs as possible, utilize the 15% (+5% Red Card) registry completion discount, then head back to our house to organize, organize, organize.
Saturday morning, we started the day off with a huge breakfast, then Adam headed out to buy wood for the changing table, and I took my parents up to Target for operation registry completion. We were able to scoop up a few last minute items I’d been needing, and I feel much more prepared for baby girl now! It took a couple hours to sort through and decide what was an actual must have and what was a “get it later” item, but I think we are just about set now. Here are a few of the staple items we snatched up…
- Boppy Newborn Lounger
- Ergo Infant Insert
- Extra Bottles – we’re starting with the Avent Natural
- Extra crib sheets
- A few basic toys to start with
- Nursing accessories, i.e. hands free pumping bra, extra storage bags, lansinoh therapy pads
- Humidifier
- Mesh crib liner
- Hamper
- Waterproof changing pad liners
- Monitor
We spent all afternoon unboxing shower gifts, washing Adeline’s clothes, blankets, swaddles, and putting everything away in the nursery “in a place” so now there is no longer a giant pile of STUFF in the middle of the room! It was so fun spending that time with my mom, and I’m so thankful we were able to do that together! Definitely a special memory!
Saturday night we headed to our favorite dinner spot, then came back home and crashed! The next time we all go out to dinner there will be someone else joining us!! Eek!
Sunday I met my parents for a quick breakfast before church, then they headed back home, and Adam and I headed off to church. I spent all afternoon yesterday writing thank you notes, and resting. I’m about 3/4 of the way done with thank you notes, but still need to address them all. Hopefully I can motivate myself to knock them all out before she arrives!
For the changing table I mentioned – it’s looking awesome! I can’t wait to see the finished product. He finished building it, and got one coat of paint on it, but it still needs a few more coats before it’s ready to go into the nursery. Adam is such a talented woodworker, I keep telling him he could set up an Etsy shop and sell a few things on the side!
I think that about wraps it up! I can’t wait to FINISH the nursery, get everything hung on the walls, and show you the finished product! Soon, very soon!
What were some of the last minute items you remember picking up? Did you feel weird knowing that “the clock was ticking” before your baby was here WITH you?

August 31, 2015 at 7:26 pmHow fun you and your mom got to share that special ‘task’ together! I did it with my best friend and we had so much fun looking at all the tiny baby clothes! Plus, I’m a organizational freak and she’s not, so it worked out perfect! HAHA Gosh, I probably shouldn’t be allowed in Target if I have a child on the way, I’ll make us go broke there! Excited for you and your family, sending good vibes and thoughts your way! Can’t wait to see the crib! xoxo, ganeeban
