Weekend Recap: Cheese Dip, Flowers, and Sleep

This weekend was wonderful. Plain and simple. I feel like we got a lot accomplished, but also spent a lot of quality time together, which I’ve been all about lately!

Let’s recap, shall we.

Friday night after we got home and let Miss Truckee out, I had a serious craving for some cheese dip and knew we still needed to try a new (to us) place up in Conway. So, we headed back out and were soon feasting at Tacos 4 Life out on their patio. Tacos 4 Life is a pretty neat concept: for every meal purchased (certain ones on the menu) they donate a meal to a country in Africa (I forgot which country…I’m obviously bad at talking them up!). Either way, it’s kind of like Toms but with tacos. Anyways, it was delicious, and between the two of us we tried their queso, 4 different tacos, and their iced tea. These days I could practically swim in cheese dip so I was a happy camper the rest of the evening! We loved sitting out on the patio as the sun went down, and it was nice to go on a date to somewhere we’d never been before!

When we got back home, we watched half of The Big Lebowski before I passed out and headed to bed.

Saturday morning, I woke up around 8:30 to a large black nose and a very slobbery kiss. Truckee came galloping into our bedroom to wake me up, and Adam filled me in on the events of the morning I had already slept through. By the time they woke me up at 8:30, he had already run with Truckee down to the lake (almost 2 miles), thrown the ball for her at the field, run with her at the other lake (1 mile), AND taken her to our favorite Farmer’s Market! I could not believe how productive they were! And to top it off, he’d bought me fresh flowers for the kitchen.

A little bit later, I got ready and we headed back out for breakfast and a Saturday morning date to Home Depot. We hit up Chick Fil A then strolled through Home Depot picking out a few new flowers for the yard. Side note- flowers are EXPENSIVE! Good gravy. But, we settled on two pink azaleas, a lavender for me because it smelled good, and a citronella to help with mosquitos. We’re planning on planting a hydrangea between the azaleas once we find out what gender Baby Ingle is, and then I’ll probably want to add a few more hydrangeas or azaleas to fill it out. The rest of Saturday was spent working in the yard, getting some chores done inside, and squeezing in a quick fro-yo date. I counted picking up sticks for an hour as my exercise for the day. Judge all you want. Then Saturday night, Adam went with some guys to watch the big fight on pay-per-view.

Sunday morning I woke up not feeling great, so we were bad and skipped church and Adam went and picked up breakfast instead. Allergies this year are crazy, and waking up with a sinus headache pretty much knocked me out for the rest of the day. Truckee and I slept the majority of the afternoon on the couch, which she was obviously more than ok with!

Sunday night, we went to small group and started our new study. We’re reading through the book Sacred Marriage, and I’m excited to dive deeper into a good marriage study now that our small group, that was once like 30 people, has split for the summer into a few much, much smaller groups.

And that wraps it up! Nothing too exciting, but it’s been nice to be home on the weekends to enjoy time together and knock some things of our to-do list.

Do you think your allergies are worse this year because of the pregnancy? Mine are going CRAZY and I read congestion is one of the symptoms! So I’m blaming mine on baby. 🙂

Aw, that was so sweet of Truckee and the hubs to bring you flowers! He got a lot accomplished before 8:30.

Looks like it was a great weekend overall. I hope your head is feeling better today!

Sounds like a great weekend! Oh and I agree with you, flowers are so expensive! I would love to do more with our landscaping but it is really pricey to buy mulch and florals and bushes every year!

Toms for tacos! I’m cracking up! I’m glad I don’t live near one of those restaurants then because it would give me the perfect excuse to order four tacos and be like “what? it’s for charity!”
