Weekend Recap: Behind the Camera, Girlfriends, and Truckee Treats

This weekend was a crazy productive one, and once again reminded me that my weekends will soon not be all about me! Here’s the run down!

The weekend started off with a walk, which is quickly becoming a part of our Friday night traditions.

walking through pregnancy

Saturday morning I headed up to my little college town to shoot a mini session for the cutest one year old. I’ve been shooting most of his first year, so to finally cap things off at his one year shoot was a blast. It was crazy hot, but luckily we started early enough in the morning that we came out unscathed! You can see the post HERE, if interested.

After the shoot, I swung by one of my closest friends and roommates from college and enjoyed pancakes and playtime with her little girl! It’s always fun catching up with girlfriends from college, and I’m always left feeling thankful for those friendships. It takes a lot of hard work to keep up relationships once you all move away, so being able to pick up right where we started was so nice. Next time we hang out, it might be a play date with BOTH our little girls!! AH!

After I left, I swung by our favorite jewelry store, got my rings cleaned, then headed home to find Adam building pallet shelves for Adeline’s nursery. These are going to look so cute once they’re full of sweet books!

Saturday night we finished up our registry at Target, then Adam helped me prep an upcoming blog post. We’re now registered at Target and Amazon, and I am already a huge proponent for the EASE of Amazon. Registering at Target was such a pain, and the store was a wreck! It was just so picked over, and almost stressful trying to make the iPhone scanner work correctly. If you’re registering soon, save yourself the headache and do it all on Amazon. Easy peasy!!!

On Sunday we turned 26 weeks! Whoo hoo! Even though I literally feel like I’ve been pregnant ALL YEAR, which I almost have, it’s crazy how fast this is flying by.

Sunday night we hosted small group, and spent the evening fellowshipping with some fabulous friends.

The highlight of the weekend was probably when we gave Truckee her new treats!! I know that sounds super lame, but she was so pumped about these jerky treats. Chewy.com recently sent us this complimentary bag from Rocco & Roxie to try out, and I just knew Truckee would love them!

jerky treats for labs

From the company: “We never add wheat, corn, soy or gluten fillers, all of which are bad for dogs. Just lots and lots of meaty goodness, coming from pure good ol’ American farms. What’s the secret? A family recipe, tested and perfected over time. The first and main ingredient is high quality All-American Beef, Chicken, or Turkey (no overseas meat whatsoever!). The natural, smokey flavor comes from being slow-smoked for 15 hours.”

They are her new favorite treats, without a doubt. They are also perfect for practicing her new trick: the nose balance! She can balance her bone on her nose, hold it, then catch it in the air when she flips it off her nose, and she’s very close to doing the same with her new jerky treats! Girl’s got skills.

And just like that, another weekend was over and done with! I’ve got a fun Pink Blush Maternity review post coming up, and I can’t wait to share some pretty dresses!

Oh, and today is our glucose test. Eek! Wish me luck!

What did you do this weekend? If you mostly exercise during the week, do you try to keep up with it on the weekends or take a break? Or are you the other way around?

Awww those photos are too cute! You did an amazing job of capturing his sweet and smiley personality :).

Can I ask you how you trained Truckee to do that nose balancing trick? Tucker is fantastic about not lunging after treats when we tell him to be a “gentleman” and won’t touch it till we give him the go-ahead, but that nose trick might just push our puppy past his patience limit 😉

A stern look and a disappointing gaze when she fails.

He’s right, lots of repetition and giving her the look of disappointment works every time. She is such a people pleaser!
