Monday, you sneaky thing. I was hoping the weekend would last a little longer, but alas you’ve reared your ugly face again. We did have a pretty great weekend though, one that consisted of relaxation, swimming, packing, and spending time together as a family. It’s crazy to think it’s one of our last few weekends home, in this house, in Arkansas, before we make our big move at the end of the month. We still have so much to do, but I’m hoping everything comes together easier than I’m imagining! I think more than anything I’m just excited though. I’m ready to get this show on the road!
So Friday was actually a very special day!
Our 5th wedding anniversary!
Crazy! Cannot believe it’s been 5 years already. Time truly does fly when you’re married to your best friend!
We were planning on doing an overnight trip somewhere, but with our move coming up we opted for a day-date instead, while postponing a bigger trip. We both had the afternoon off so we took full advantage! At lunchtime, I treated myself to a deluxe pedicure, and loved every second of it. When I was finished, Adam picked me up and we headed straight to the theater to see Wonder Woman. I had been DYING to see WW and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Seriously amazing. I would see it again without hesitation, and would highly recommend it! I hope and pray that WW is the type of superhero character that all little girls will aspire to be! Heck, CAN I BE WONDER WOMAN?!
Friday night, after we picked up Adeline, we ordered our usual pizza and all chowed down around the coffee table. Adeline went down pretty early, and Adam and I weren’t too far behind her! Anyone else completely exhausted most Friday nights?
Saturday and Sunday, I honestly didn’t take many pictures. #badblogger I really made it a goal this weekend to put my phone down and just be present.
So, we woke up Saturday morning, and evoked a family breakfast date almost immediately. We packed up and went to Chick-fil-A, then wandered around Bass Pro and the outlet mall. Adeline fell asleep in the stroller at the outlet mall, and it was absolutely adorable. I guess she shopped ’till she dropped. The rest of Saturday we spent working on things around the house, and just relaxing. Saturday night I made a batch of one-pot chicken spaghetti, before bedtimes were upon us. Adam and I nearly fell asleep watching Passengers – with Chris Pratt and J Law. Have you seen it?? It’s so weird, but also so good and thought provoking! If you like space movies, check it out! PS You get to see Chris Pratt’s naked butt. You’re welcome.
Sunday we went to church, then came home and packed while Adeline snoozed. We loaded up a TON of stuff and got it hauled over to our storage unit, which will be a big help in a few weeks. We’ve got the guest room almost completely cleaned out, everything off the walls, guest bathroom is mostly packed up, and extra linens and towels I got packed up as well. After Adeline woke up, we enjoyed pool party on the back porch, then before we knew it it was dinner time, bed time, and here we are!
Oh yea, and we twinned at church! Well, kind of. Color-coordinated at least. Adam bought this dress for her, and although I’m biased, I think she looked like the cutest little girly girl ever!
Here’s to being present on the weekends, while recharging those mental batteries!
How was your weekend? Did you unplug and relax?
