This weekend was one for the books! We traveled to TN to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday, as well as Mother’s Day. Needless to say, it was a pretty packed weekend, but packed in the best way possible! We haven’t had a family-focused weekend in quite a while, so spending all day Saturday hanging out at my parent’s house together was just what we all needed.
We got in town Friday night in time for dinner, but by the time we ate dinner, and got unpacked, Adeline was ready to crash! Saturday morning we played and played with Grammy and PDaddy, then Adeline passed out for a THREE hour nap before my brother and his family got there. I was shocked she slept for so long – sleepy thing slept through lunch and dessert! Once all the babies were finally awake (and happy) (and fed) at the same time, we rushed outside for some quick family pics. (Which explains the terrible shadows…it’s the best we could do!)
The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful, and after we snapped some pics we all chased the kids around outside, played with bubbles, and rested sporadically before heading off to dinner. Adeline is finally big enough to actually run around and play with Henry, and it was really something special and sweet to see. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be so fun watching my brother and I’s kids playing together! This time next year, Sutton will be out there with them!
Speaking of Sutton, he just melts me!! He has the most beautiful blue eyes!! Auntie life is most certainly the best life 😉 Other than mom life…deff a close second!
For dinner we headed out to Leiper’s Fork to one of my most favorite little restaurants, The Country Boy. We actually had our rehearsal dinner in the basement, so I love going back whenever we can! To our surprise, Adeline consumer more green beans and turnip greens than grilled cheese. Whose child is she?? After dinner, Adeline still had some energy to get out so we walked around and let her practice her cowgirl skills.
Sunday, for Mother’s Day, we did the church thing then went out to breakfast before packing up and heading out. I am blessed with the best mother, grandmother, and mother in law around, and I only hope that I can be as great a mother to Adeline as mine was to me!
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mamas out there! I hope you enjoyed your weekend!
