If there’s one question I’ve got more than others since having Adeline, it’s “so how’s Truckee doing?”.
Poor girl. I know her world has been completely rocked and she’s desperately craving more walks and attention. She’s been handling the new family dynamics though like a champ, even though I do think she’s a little bit jealous that all of my cuddle time goes to the new human puppy, and not necessarily to her. I think once I go back to work and we get back into our regular routine I’ll be able to better balance my human child and my fur child, but for now, she’s soaking up all of the loving she can get from Adam. (Seriously, the second he gets home from work everyday, you’d think she was going to turn herself inside out!)
As far as how she acts around Adeline, she’s amazing. She’s so gentle, and always wants to quietly sniff her feet or lay by her on her play mat. She’s never acted aggressive, and typically doesn’t bother her. For the most part, she keeps to herself and ignores her. However, I do think sometimes she’s annoyed by Adeline’s crying, ha! “Can somebody please make that puppy be quiet???”
Truckee is however still the most spoiled black lab there ever was. She still sleeps snuggly in her memory foam dog bed, gets warm water, just the way she prefers it, and doesn’t go outside if it means her paws will get cold or wet. Recently, she got to enjoy a fresh new bag of treats as well! As a blogger for chewy.com’s blogger network, I was once again able to pick out a bag of goodies I thought Miss Truckee would enjoy. These are December’s pick, so I’m a little behind, but better late than never! Sure enough, she was ecstatic, and I think her drool proves they were a hit.
This month we tried out Nutro’s Moist ‘n Chewy Bites, in the roasted chicken flavor. Kid you not, the second I opened these up for her, she started salivating. This girl LOVES her special treats, and she turns into the happiest dog ever.
These treats are 100% natural, and I can actually pronounce all of the ingredients. Always a plus! They really are soft and chewy, and oddly enough smell delicious. They’re pretty tiny though, which is why I think the “treats per day” scale on the back of the bag says that a dog in the 50-100lb range can receive 15-24 treats a day!!!!!! I’m not telling Truckee that, though! She’d be pretty upset with me. Also, we’d go through this bag in like, two days.
If it’s not obvious by that slobber above, Truckee loved these, and if she had opposable thumbs she’d give them two thumbs up!
You can find these on chewy.com and they’re currently on sale for $6.59!
Fun fact – Nutro is based in my hometown of Franklin, TN! Woohoo!
