Edit: My heart is broken for the people of Las Vegas. Sending prayers. Big, big prayers.
It’s officially my favorite month of the year – October! Hard to believe, but here we are. Adeline will turn two this month and I’m still trying to figure out how that’s possible. She’s my favorite thing ever, and I’ve so enjoyed slowing down and soaking up every second of being her mom before she turns two and practically runs off to college.
So this weekend was freaking fantastic. I was able to attend our church’s Women’s Conference, and I left feeling refreshed, uplifted, and encouraged. We also spent Saturday night as a family at a local festival and we loved seeing Adeline truly live her best life! I’m not going to recap it in typical Monday fashion, but it’s mostly on my Instagram anyways. It was one of those weekends I wished wouldn’t end.
Adeline’s outfit on Saturday night stole the show. I finally put her in her Harding University (alma mater!) cheerleader outfit that a family member gifted her forever ago. HEART. MELTED. I know we joke about saying, “I literally can’t even!” But I assure you, I literally CAN’T EVEN. She’s so ridiculously cute I can’t stand it! I know I’m biased, but I don’t care. Future Bison right here!
A part of me can’t believe it’s October, and another part of me is so relieved it’s October. Back in August, it felt like we would never escape those dark clouds, and the rest of the month drug on and on. Then September just kind of blew by, and we lived for the weekends. And now here we are in October and I finally feel like a wave of peace has washed over us, and I’m just loving my little family and the life we’ve built so, so much.
Life is so precious, and moves so quickly, that I’ve really considered taking a step back from the blog this month. I want to be 100% present, so I’m probably going to be sharing way fewer posts. I’ll still be popping in on occasion though, so we’ll see how it goes. This is a big month, and I know I’ll have lots of fun things to share along the way. Sweet Miles is basically our family diary, after all! And because well, photographer mom over here. Can’t stop, won’t stop.
I usually post 3-4 times a week, but I think an important season of life is rest, and that season is now. I’ve never taken a proper blogging break, so this is going to be a huge change of pace. I’m going to aim for 1-2 posts a week at most, but don’t be surprised if I go radio silent for a full week. I’ve still got a few posts already committed to, but other than those, I’ll be flying under the radar. At least compared to my usual grind. You can still keep up with us over on Instagram though! Hopefully you guys will understand.
Cheers to living the good life!
