A Surprise Birthday Party For Our Honey Bee

This weekend we headed down to TX to surprise Adam’s mom for her 60th birthday. I caught myself multiple times being tempted to post something on Instagram before remembering that she would see it before she got in town and I would ruin the surprise! Since she was out of town until Saturday night at a work conference, the plan was to have everyone arrive at my in-law’s house and be waiting for her when she got home. After an extra long plane delay, she finally made it back home where we all just happened to be waiting in the kitchen for her! To say she was shocked would be an understatement, and I’m sure if she wasn’t so tired she’d have jumped up and down. Definitely a very, happy birthday treat indeed.

I’m too tired to go into too much more detail about our weekend so I’ll leave you with a photo dump. It was a fun weekend filled with lots of sunshine and playing in the pool, something my pale skin has been desperately craving! But really, we just booked our beach trip for September and I’m going to need to spend some serious time in the sun before then so I don’t fry. This mama ain’t got time for a base tan! <—I’m going to need some serious advice for packing for a beach trip with a baby, so feel free to comment on that!

Adeline seemed to really enjoy herself, and all of her cousins had SO much fun doting on her every chance they could. I just know she’s going to have a blast growing up with all these little hoodlums. (Plus another BOY in December!!)

I’ll be back soon to share my exciting news! If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen it, but I’ll be sharing more deets on the blog.

On our way out of town, we met up with one of my best friends and roommates from college and her precious baby girl. Our girls were due just ONE day apart, but ended up being born around two weeks apart. Brittany and Lennon are so much fun, and I’m so thankful we took the time to see them!! It’s a very special thing to spend time with not just your college roommate, but BOTH of your daughters. When we met our freshmen year (2007), I never would have imagined we’d see this day!

How was your weekend?! Any mid-week plans? Do you keep in touch with your college friends?Β
