*Raise.com reached out to me to help raise awareness for their fitness brands. In no way was I compensated or given any free product. Just my honest thoughts.*
Can you believe summer is coming to an end?! Every year it seems to go by faster and faster, and I can’t even fathom that Christmas will be here before we know it! Even though the local kids are back in school, here in Arkansas it will still FEEL like summer well into September, if not early October. (Although secretly, I’d be a-ok with fall arriving tomorrow!)
Even though fall is approaching, I’m still not quite ready to take the plunge of buying long sleeve running gear. And after yesterday’s 95* run, this girl is definitely still in summer mode. This time of year is very much a transition time for retailers, so it’s a PERFECT time to snag your favorite summer fitness gear potentially on sale as they prepare to display their fall lines. And even if you are only able to wear your summer running tanks and shorty shorts for just a few more weeks, it wouldn’t hurt to rack up on your faves now, and stow them away until next summer! By the time it’s warm again, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see a few items you forgot you even had.
Raise.com – Buy and Sell Discounted Gift Cards
Today I’ve got a little secret to share with you that will help make adding to your fitness wardrobe a little easier. There is a website called raise.com, where you can buy and sell discounted gift cards to dozens of retailers. Pretty cool, eh? If you know you’re going to make a trip to Dick’s Sporting Goods soon to pick up a couple new sports bras, try looking in Raise’s marketplace to see if there are any discounted Dick’s gift cards you could use. Or, if you’re buying for someone else, and simply want to gift them a gift card, you can potentially save a little bit of money off of the true value of the gift card!
Here’s an example using Dick’s Sporting Goods…
Raise.com is currently wrapping up a campaign called Summer Fit – dedicated to encouraging fitness lovers to make their fitness apparel purchases using gift cards! There are tons of options for buying your fitness essentials, and several of the stores I already buy most of my workout clothes from are already on here. For me, I would love to use the discounted gift cards from Dick’s, Target, Old Navy, Under Armour, Gap, The North Face, Academy, and Lorna Jane! The cool thing too about raise.com is that you can either have them deliver you the physical gift card, or, some have the option of downloading it digitally for use online. I figure if you know you’re looking to spend around $40.00 on an outfit anyways, why not go ahead and essentially pre-pay for it by using a gift card, but only spend $36.00 on the gift card from the get-go? So your total for the outfit may still come out to $40.00, but you’ll pay with your $40.00 gift card that you only spent $36.00 on. Does that make sense, friends?
It’s a pretty neat concept, and even if you just save a few dollars here or a few dollars there, over time that adds up!
Here are a few of my summer fitness essentials I’ve bookmarked, and think that I just might have to treat myself to a gift card! Or maybe have my husband treat me to a gift card. I think I like the sound of that. Basic items like quality shorts, basic tanks, and a good sports bra are really all you need to get you through a hot summer. Most of these are simply screenshots off of their respective sites, along with links to their listing.
Nike Printed Modern Tempo Short
Love the mint and teal combo, perfect for summer and flattering on tan legs! They also have a zip pocket on the back waistline – perfect for a salty treat, or your car key!
Nike Dri-Fit Touch Breeze Tank
You’ll need a light and breezy tank to go with those shorts, for sure! Simple tanks like this can be worn ALL summer, and even as layering pieces in the fall and winter seasons.
C9 by Champion Women’s Seamless Bra with Removable Pads
Still loving my C9 sports bras…seriously, so cheap, so comfortable, and let’s be real, a good padded sports bra is most definitely a summer essential!
Under Armour Fly-By Stretch Mesh Tank
This tank looks super lightweight, and extra breathable. And, it’s super bright so you’ll keep yourself plenty visible to cars and other dangers. I love the flattering racerback cut, and think it could be your go-to “race day” tank.
Under Armour Printed Get Going Shorts
These running shorts would go with just about every single tank I have in my closet, but are basic enough to be your “errand running” shorts as well. They are sold out of the black online in my size, (might have to check in stores), but there are several other really cute colors as well. I love the wide waistband, and they too have a pocket in the back. I could imagine getting my investment out of these within just a few weeks!
The North Face Pulse Active Tank
I’ve always been a big fan of The North Face, and I love the two-toned pattern of this tank. It would be perfect for summer running, or even yoga since it’s a little more fitted. It’s moisture wicking, and bright, just the way I like ’em!
And you’re right, pretty much nothing I picked out is on sale. Isn’t that how it always goes, though?
Have you heard of Raise.com? What are your thoughts on purchasing a discounted gift card? What is one of your summer fitness essentials?
