Stridebox Review: May 2014

I’m back with another Stridebox Review!

If you’ll recall, my husband gifted me a subscription to Stridebox as a surprise Christmas present, and I’ve been loving it!

Every month this pretty little cardboard box arrives with new and fun running treats. Occasionally there are items I’ve tried before, but more often than not, it’s all new to me. One thing that I’m so glad Stridebox includes in all of their boxes is the info card, with retail pricing and a small description of each item. And on occasion, a discount code if you’re lucky!

This month’s theme was, “Celebrate Each Mile.”

This month’s items are:

-Fuse Science Electrofuse Electrolyte Drops

This one sounds extra interesting to me. I struggle with keeping my electrolytes in check during long, hot runs, and always find I run better when I’m drinking more than just water. I think this will really come in handy! Here’s the description on the info card: “Boost your electrolytes before you compete or train. All the electrolytes you need in a single drop. Take one ampule before training or racing.”

-Fuse Science EnerJel Muscle Rub

Can I rub this on my shoulders after work???

-Clif Shot Electrolyte Hydration, Cranberry Razz

Also super excited about this – I’m a loyal fan of Clif Shot Bloks, so I know this must be good!

-Pocket Fuel, Nut Butter Blends

-Rockin’ Green Soap, Athletic Wear Detergent

And detergent for my running clothes? Yes please! “Specifically formulated natural detergent with tea-tree oil that works great for synthetics and “wicking” fabrics.”

-Power Bar Energy Bar, Nutty Berry

-FRS Healthy Energy, Soft Chews

I’ll keep you updated on the items I test out! Follow me on Instagram or Twitter, if you aren’t already!

Have you tried Stridebox? Would you? Have you used any of these items in particular?

I definitely want to look into StrideBox a little more! Seems like a great deal! Thanks for sharing this. What’s the best thing you’ve received in a box before?

Samantha–I’m not sure I can pick a “best” thing! But there are always fun little snack bars and protein bars I always enjoy!! And definitely discovering all of the different electrolyte drink mixes are fun! Last month there was a fuel belt similar to a SPI Belt, so that was different!

My boyfriend got a stride box for Christmas. It had some pretty cool things in it – lots of fuel. I would love to try the Clif Shot Electrolyte Hydration. I’m a big fan of the bloks but I recently switched to Honey Stinger gels because I find them easier to eat while running. The detergent looks pretty cool too!

I’ve never used the Honey Stinger gels! I’ve had their cookie-type waffle things, but not the gels!

What a neat idea. I have never heard of stridebox. I wish someone would do this for me as a gift. I’ve recently started running with nuun since it’s been so hot out lately and I can tell a difference. Im not so dehydrated after my runs and my forehead is not full of salt crystals afterwards either.

I would love to try stride box (when all the makeup ones were super popular, I as bummed that runners had nothing haha) but I might be hesitant to add in the samples into my regular routine. Have you found that the items fit well? I’m just worried about getting a stomachache or something mid run if I gave a new product a try 🙁

I feel ya! I’ve just always tested everything out during my daily runs, and not tested them out during a race! I would never try anything new on race day, but if I’m just staying close to home for a training run, that’s a perfect time to test out something new!

I don’t think I run enough to know get use out of alot of these items! But I do like this idea, maybe signing up for the boxes would encourage me to run more, haha. The deodorant sounds good though!

I’ve never heard of this before. I’m not a runner, but I’d definitely try it out if they made one for weight lifters!
