Sending Thanks With Basic Invite

This post is in partnership with Basic Invite. All opinions are my own.

Going into this pregnancy, I wasn’t sure if we’d even have a shower, let alone be gifted much of anything since it’s baby number two and that just seems to be the norm with second, third, fourth babies. Plus, new state, new church family, second baby – we just assumed whatever gifts we were given would be a huge blessing and we would do our best to make up the difference in things we truly wanted or needed to stock back up on. But guys, we have been blown away by the generosity of friends, family, and coworkers who have already flooded us with thoughtful gifts for our little guy! We feel so thankful to be surrounded by an awesome support system, and I already can’t believe how many thank you notes I need to write! It makes my heart happy to know that even though Barrett is our second baby, he’s going to be just as loved and celebrated as his big sister!

A few of our favorite recent gifts include:

After receiving so many sweet gifts for Barrett, it’s now time to start sending our thanks and gratitude. But, thank you notes always seem to be a hot topic, and I feel like you’re either a thank you note writer, or you’re not. I almost think it’s a southern/northern thing in some respects. Listen, my grandmother would roll over in her grave if I skipped writing a thank you note, let me just tell you. In the south, you write thank you notes. For everything. Every-thing. Regardless of if you think it’s a geographical thing, it really boils down to common courtesy. These days, hand written notes are hard to come by and snail mail is on the decline. But, is there anything better than getting a piece of mail? Anytime I receive a thank you note, I immediately attribute a little extra class and character to the sender. It’s just a nice touch. (As HARD as it is to actually write them, it’s doubly hard to remember to actually mail them! Guilty!)

I was recently given the chance to test out Basic Invite, and I think I’m hooked! I love a good stationery company, but Basic Invite is killing it in the designs, pricing, and ease-ability! You can pretty much customize everything from A to Z. I had actually never tried Basic Invite before, but I’m so glad my eyes were opened to them. With thank you notes on my radar, I couldn’t resist ordering a custom handful of my favorite boy themed baby shower thank you notes, perfect for lighting a fire under my behind to get this thank you note writing party started!

The design I picked out to to try is the Woodland Outline Baby Shower Thank You card. I then customized it to better fit my color theme, switching out the teal green for a navy blue. You can actually pick out your paper type, update your quantity to an exact amount, and customize the backs and the envelopes. For even more personalization, you can input your return address, and/or mailing addresses. (Better yet, if you don’t have all of your addresses on hand yet, Basic Invitesย offers an address capturing service that allows you to simply share a link on social media to request addresses which are then stored in your account!)

Basic Invite has tons of stationery options, ranging from custom invitations for any occasion or event, to business cards, fun printables, and all things baby. I wasted a little too much time browsing the birth announcement section, dreaming of what our little boy’s face might look like on one pretty soon! They also have the cutest baby boy shower invitations, like these bow tie themed invites – adorable! I need someone around me to have a baby so I can order their invites! Ha!

I still can’t believe we’re almost 33 weeks into pregnancy! My to-do list seems to be getting longer and longer, but making sure my thank you’s are knocked out before he gets here is a top priority. So, if you need me anytime soon – I’ll be neck deep in my southern roots writing my thank you notes!

PS right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code:ย 15FF51

That is so funny about thank you notes. I actually feel the opposite to be true. I am from the North and always received thank you cards. Since moving down South after college, I barely receive any. However, I really feel like itโ€™s a generational thing more than a geographical one. Kids just arenโ€™t taught to write them anymore….sad.
