Valentine’s Day Running Picks

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!

Linking up with Jill Conyers today! Be sure and check out her blog for a fantastic giveaway!

Whether or not you celebrate Valentine’s Day, I hope you feel the love today!

Adam and I will be celebrating our 6th V-day together as a couple, and when I think back on previous Valentine’s Days together, some of them make me chuckle, smile, and laugh! I still wear a little Tiffany’s heart ring he got me for our first Valentine’s Day and could count on one hand how many times I’ve taken off since! I also cringe at the thought of silly arguments caused by V-Day, and thank goodness we’ve moved on from that! In the end, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be celebrated just one day a year, but it is fun to set aside a few moments together to appreciate one another  just a little extra, and make each other feel special.

As I was watching the Olympics tonight, and finishing  up Adam’s Valentine, I was in the pink mood and gathered up a few Valentine’s Day themed running items!

gifts for runners on valentine's day

1. Brooks D’Lite Reversible Racerback

This is actually much more transparent and light than it appears, but would be super cool for hot summer runs or races!

2. Marathon Hearts Pro Compression Socks

Pro Compression makes awesome socks! They fit a bit higher on me than my Swiftwick pair, but I love all of the fun colors they are always coming out with. Plus, you can usually find a 40% off coupon somewhere!

3. OOFOS OOriginal

If you follow me on Instagram, @sarah_ingle1, then you know that I LOVE my OOFOS recovery flip flops! I’ve been wearing them around the house after workouts and they make my feet feel oh so happy.

4. Brooks EZ T Love To Run

I don’t usually run in graphic t-shirts, but if you look closely this one is a heart made out of running shoes! I see what you did there, Brooks.

5. lululemon Swiftly Tech Short Sleeve

Ah, if only this beauty wasn’t a budget buster. This lulu top can be added to my dream running closet.

6. Oiselle Flyte Tank

Can. Say. Enough. GREAT. Things. About. Oiselle! I have the long sleeve version of this top in orange, and I think I’ve worn it for every race since I bought it. It’s that fabulous.

What are you wearing this weekend for any long runs or races?! Rocking some pink and red? I’m debating what to wear tomorrow for my 15K, and might have to bundle up, so any cute options might be thrown out the window. I’ve been talking about Nashville’s Hot Chocolate 15K since late December, and it’s finally here! I’ve heard great things about this race series, and I can’t wait to participate! We had a friend go to the expo for us yesterday and pick up our packets since we won’t make it there in time, so I’m a little bummed I didn’t get to walk around. But, I think I’m most excited about the post-race hot chocolate finisher mugs! Check it out…

If that doesn’t spur you to run a little faster, I don’t know what will!

Saturday afternoon after the race I’m going wedding dress shopping with my best friend from back home, who recently asked me to be her Matron of Honor! Super excited to watch her try on dresses, and can’t believe it’s that time! She’s been dating her now fiance for 10  years, so to say it’s been a long time comin’ would be an understatement! Saturday evening I’m snapping a few last minute maternity photos for my brother and sister-in-law, then Adam and I are hoping to hit up Cheesecake Factory for either dinner or dessert to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Should be a busy, busy weekend!

But before the business of the weekend sets in, I’m thinking back on how blessed I am to have found my best friend, and #1 fan and partner in life.

Happy Valentine’s Day, handsome husband of mine! I hope we’re always as happy and in love as we were on June 9th, 2012, and that our honeymoon never ends!

(Because we’re totally going to win HGTV’s Dream Home in Tahoe)

What are your Valentine’s Day plans? Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day or pass it off as just another Hallmark holiday?

I had never heard of Oiselle until I started a blog – and then I started seeing them everywhere. Their stuff is darn cute. I love that it’s really feminine without being “girly,” if you know what I mean – womanly, I guess? I’m struggling with words. Must be all the snow. 🙂

Those mugs look awesome! There was a hot chocolate race down here and it was executed very poorly from everything I read in our club newsletter but I have heard others are great!!

Happy V day to you girl! I agree, there is no reason we can’t love those special people everyday, but it is fun to have extra emphasis today!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but y’all aren’t going to win the dream home in Tahoe. 🙁 My husband and I are. 😉 Haha! I want all of those running items you just shared! I’m such a sucker for all running products! My husband and I will be celebrating Valentine’s today, but we will keep it low key. We will be eating dinner at home. I am picking us up dinner from a hamburger place he has been dying to try and bringing it home. While I am out, Ryan is going to make everything romantic at home for a stay at home date. 🙂 Then we will just relax and enjoy each other’s company. I love a low key Valentine’s Day. 🙂 Oh, and my dad did the Hot Chocolate 15k last weekend in Texas (his first 15k, I’m so proud of him!), and he loved it! He said the finisher’s bowl was awesome and delicious! You will have a blast!

Those Valentine’s Pro Compression socks are so cute! They’d be fun for a themed race. This Valentine’s will probably be low key. I think the boyfriend and I plan on staying in, cooking dinner, and drinking a little bubbly 😉

Leslee- Aren’t they?! I wish I had seen them before vday and I would have totally worn them to my race this past weekend!! I think a low key Vday is the way to go, definitely less stress and less crowds 🙂

UMMMMM nope, we are TOTALLY winning the dream home! 🙂

Mike’s dad’s bday is tomorrow so we’re going out to dinner with his parents tonight as a bday celebration! Tomorrow night we’re going to celebrate vday by probably cooking something delicious for dinner and having red velvet milkshakes for dessert! (i found the recipe earlier this week and I’ve been obsessing over it ever since, haha)

Hope you guys have an awesome valentines day!!!

I want one of everything please! How’s this for a romantic Valentine’s Day? 30,000+ cheerleaders in Atlanta for a competition. Dinner alone with my husband? Didn’t happen LOL Fortunately, we celebrated last weekend 🙂
