Run So They Can Read 5K Discount Code – Siloam Springs, AR

travelling stories 5k

Traveling Stories is a non-profit organization that works to provide free literacy coaching to kids in the US, and to help build libraries in villages around the world. It’s a pretty neat concept, and its founder is passionate about helping at-risk kids not just learn to read for the first time, but establish a love for reading all together. Teaching kids to read proficiently, as early as possible, is critical in helping them be successful students, and has a direct reflection on their odds of receiving a diploma.

The Run So They Can Read 5K  will take place on Saturday, October 4th in Siloam Springs, AR (NWA) at 8:00 AM at Bob Henry Park. This race is being held in conjunction with John Brown University’s Homecoming Weekend, so what better way to get your friends, family, alumni, or colleagues out for some fun exercise!

100% of the proceeds will benefit Trading Stories, and you will run knowing you are helping provide a child with a chance to read! Come on, who can say no to that?? I couldn’t imagine growing up without books, and feel sad for kiddos all around the world who don’t have easy access to books, or who grow up never learning how to read them! What if I had never read Goodnight Moon, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Go Dog Go, The Napping House, Clifford, The Boxcar Children, Charlotte’s Web, Sarah Plain and Tall, Where the Red Fern Grows, Amelia Bedelia, The Berenstain Bears, Winnie The Pooh, The Little Engine That Could, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, The Outsiders, The Babysitters Club, Brown Cow Brown Cow, The Velveteen Rabit…the list could go on and on. I don’t think my childhood would have been the same! Every child deserves the opportunity to be read to, and to learn how to read.

Ok ya’ll, here are the details:
