It’s Friday! And guess what that means?!
PENCE FAMILY CHRISTMAS is this weekend! As much as I don’t want to make the trip, and endure another long car ride, seeing loved ones during the holidays makes it all worth it. If you don’t already, follow me on Instagram, @sarah_ingle1, to stay up to date on all of the Ingle schnanigans.
Today’s post is short and sweet. Perfect for a Friday! Since I’ve been living without a planner the past ~6 months and have been resorting to post-its and iPhone Notes, I figured it would be helpful to just type up my race calendar, goals, and bucket list for 2014 so you fabulous readers can hold me to it!
I’ve decided to only nail down races for January – July, because much further out than that and we start getting into the unknown. I’m a planner, but planning much more than 6 months out only sets myself up for disappointment! Unless it’s for a marathon, which I don’t have another picked out at the moment, so we’re good. These next 6-7 months are also going to greatly depend on the birth of my nephew (eek!!), and several weddings, wedding showers, and birthdays. As of right now, the only race I’ve officially signed up for is RnR New Orleans on February 2. And even that isn’t really ‘official’ until I hear back from St. Jude. (I can’t say enough about how accommodating the race coordinators have been, it really has been much more than I ever expected.) But, I’ve got several more on my to-do list, and I’m determined to race more than ever this next year!
My 2014 Running Calendar
Saturday, December 28, 2013 – 3 Bridges Marathon – Little Rock, Arkansas
Saturday, January 11, 2014 – MLK 5K – Little Rock, Arkansas
Sunday, February 2, 2014 – Rock ‘N Roll New Orleans Half Marathon – New Orleans, Louisiana
Sunday, February 23, 2014 – CowTown Half Marathon – Ft. Worth, Texas (this one is a big maybe, esp. since I’m running NOLA two weeks before, and it’s pretty pricey)
Sunday, March 2, 2014 – Little Rock Half Marathon – Little Rock, Arkansas (assuming my nephew doesn’t come the week before, which is also a BIG possibility, thinking about seeing if there would be anyway to defer my registration if I end up leaving town that weekend)
Saturday, March 8, 2014 – Tom King Half Marathon – Nashville, TN (also a possibility, have always wanted to run this one if I happen to be in town, therefore, another big possibility)
Saturday, March 15, 2014 – Downtown Dash 10K – Little Rock, Arkansas (the day before my 25th birthday, of course I have to race this weekend!)
Saturday, April 5, 2014 – Capital City Classic 10K – Little Rock, Arkansas
Saturday, May 3, 2014 – Toad Suck 10K – Conway, Arkansas
July 4, 2014 – Firecracker Fast 5K – Little Rock, Arkansas

What are your fitness goals for 2014?
If you live in the Arkansas, middle TN, or the north TX area, you might check out a few of these races! And if you’ve previously ran any of them, I’d love to hear about it! A lot of these I actually ran last year, but I’d love to hear YOUR experience! Springtime is always FULL of great races, and I wish I could run them all…and still afford to pay the bills 🙂
Have a great weekend! As promised, a Banjees review and giveaway is still in the works so be on the lookout for that!
Oh! And before I forget it, HUGE shout out to Nicole over at Work in Sweats Mama for her sweeter than sweet blogger wish list! Be sure and check it out! I think fitness bloggers are some of the most thoughtful people on the internet, I just love it!
And because a blog post isn’t a blog post without Miss. Truckee, this is what I saw when I walked into my husband’s man cave the other night…
Could she be anymore of a ham?
