So this post is primarily for my fellow Little Rockers! But, if you are not local, you should read it in case you want to come to town for a new race! (Destination races are always the most fun anyways!) #cantwaittoraceagain
Introducing: Race 13.1 Little Rock!
Race 13.1 is a new racing series, with locations all across the country. In September, they’re making a stop right here in Little Rock and putting on their inaugural event! Race 13.1 is different in that they’re a smaller organization, have amazing customer service (they are all about putting their runners first!), and they choose a local charity partner to benefit. The charity they’ve chosen to partner with is Women and Children First, Central Arkansas’s largest domestic violence shelter.
Other than the half marathon distance, there is also going to be a 5k and a 10k, so there’s a little something for everyone. Walkers are welcome, but there is a 3.5 hour time limit for the half marathon.
For the half marathon, a few of the perks include:
- A shiny, fancy medal (who doesn’t love getting a medal after a long race??)
- Tech T-Shirt
- Certified course
- Age group and top overall finisher awards
- Post race party (with beer)
- Pace teams
- Instant race time results
- Professional photographers along the course
- Well stocked aid-stations, approximately 8
The course starts and ends at the Clinton Presidential Center, and runs along the River Trail on the NLR side. It’s an out-and-back course, mostly flat but with a few rolling hills along the trail. (For the half, the turn-around is in Burns Park)
WHEN: Sunday, September 20th
TIME: 7:00 am (Half marathon starts at 7:00, 5k/10k start at 7:15)
PRICING: Until August 17, the 5k/10k/half are $25/$35/$69 and prices increases thereafter. You can read more about pricing details HERE.
