Hello hello! Today we’re chatting about new…shoes!
This blog has seen a number of shoes over the past year or two, and I’ve had the pleasure of getting to review and love on some pretty awesome pairs! This pair though, was quite the surprise to me. It’s far from my “style”, and is something I would have never picked out for myself.
I give you: the Puma Ignite.
I also give you my pale arms, so just go with it.
I’ll be honest when saying that I wasn’t even aware that Puma was still making running shoes. In my mind, Puma was more of a 90’s brand, kind of like those old school Adidas Sambas. Remember those? Ha, where have I been?? Puma is making fantastic stuff these days!
The Ignite is actually a lightweight, speed shoe! Perfect for those quick, speed workouts where a little extra weight can make all the difference. And according to Finish Line, the fastest man in the world sports these! Who knew! Maybe I can channel some of that inner speed…
Aside from technically being a speed shoe, the Ignite is wicked comfortable, and has been my walking/casual exercise shoe as of late! I’ll throw it on anytime I take the dog out for a walk, or anytime my feet are just craving some comfort! Here’s my disclaimer: I have not put any fast miles on these as of yet. But as a longtime runner, I can definitely attest to the fact that I can easily tell they would provide a very comfortable and flexible ride!
When I first opened the box, I was a little turned off by the basic black and white color palette and worried maybe they were a little too masculine. But after some reconsideration and pairing them with some brighter outfits, I’m LOVING the basic black and white! And with my track record of getting shoes dirty as quickly as I get stains on my white t-shirts, I could use a darker pair of shoes.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve been all about the more lightweight, minimalist shoe lately, and this one can definitely be added to that list.
My only negative: I thought they ran big. I had about a half inch of extra space (in addition to the half to one inch you’re supposed to have) at the end of my toes. Next time, I would probably order a half size smaller than my normal running shoe size.
Here are a few final detail shots to oogle over. They are pretty sharp looking, you’ve got to admit!
If you want to check these out for yourself, check out your local Finish Line, online or in stores!
Have you tried any Puma products lately? Do you prefer lightweight shoes over the more bulky ones? What shoes are you loving lately, whether they’re for walking and casually exercising or putting in speed work? Any plans for running this weekend?
