Promo Code for Hot Chocolate 15/5k Nashville 2016

Well, the past two years I’ve been able to help promote the race with a promo code that will get you a fun little piece of extra swag in your race day goodie bag along with your bib. The first year was a mug, last year was a wicking running hat, and this year it’s a running buff, which can be used as a hat/scarf/bandana/gaiter. Considering the race is in the dead of winter in Nashville, you will be thankful for an extra layer, trust me! Let’s chat a bit about the race itself first, then I’ll get to the freebie!

Packet pick up will be Thursday, February 11th, from 3pm – 7pm and Friday, February 12th, from 12pm  – 6pm. Location is still TBD, but it’s almost always somewhere downtown, close to the course. Inside your goodie bag, you’ll get your bib and your official Hot Chocolate zip-up fleece jacket! Every year the jackets just get better and better, and I’ve loved having such awesome race day apparel!

Also, once again they are raising money for the Ronald McDonald House of Nashville. Such a great charity!

The race will take place on Saturday, February 13 in downtown Nashville at Bicentennial Mall State Park. If you’ve been a reader for a while, then you’ll remember that I ran last year’s race 5 weeks pregnant without realizing it, ha! We found out we were pregnant three days later. And now here we are anxiously waiting for this little tiny human to finally make her appearance. Amazing. Anyways, getting side-tracked.

The race consists of both a chip-timed USATF-certified 5k and a 15k, which both begin promptly at 7:00 AM. Runners will be placed in corrals with a wave start, and the 5k and 15k will split around mile 2.3. The course is an out-and-back, with rolling hills, but nothing too crazy. Here’s the course map:

Throughout the course, you’ll be able to see your time on timing clocks at nearly every mile, as well as the start and finish. You’ll also get to indulge in a little chocolate along the way!

After the race, you’ll get to enjoy a delicious finisher’s mug of hot chocolate, chocolate fondue, dipping snacks, and other fun hot chocolate festivities out in the mall common ground.

There’s live music, swag for purchase, and plenty of photo ops! If you finish the 15k, you’ll get another reward, a hot chocolate medal!

I think this year’s race is going to be the best one yet, and I’m hoping to be able to travel home to take part! Only this year, I’ll have a cute little fan cheering me on at the finish line!

Once again, NASHBUFF5 for a FREE Hot Chocolate running buff.

Thanks for sharing the race code!!! I wanted to run that last year but couldn’t due to an injury. I guess that baby just loves you so much they don’t want to leave. If I was to make another guess, I would guess sometime in 2015? just kidding. Good luck

I read your recap last year and wished I lived closer to one of these races. This year, I live close (enough) to the Atlanta race and I’m REALLY tempted to do it. I can’t think of a more perfect combination of my favorite things: running and chocolate 🙂

How fun! I was THIS close to running the one in my city a two years ago, but decided not to do it last minute! I’ll have to look into it again. I mean who doesn’t love hot chocolate?!
