Pregnancy: Weeks 9 & 10

Happy Friday!

These weeks are starting to fly by! I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing! I’m back with another weekly update for you all. Like I said before, I jotted down these “notes” as they were happening, and I’m so glad I did! It’s so funny to look back and see what my thoughts and feelings were each week. One day it will be nice to be able to compare my next (Lord willing) pregnancy with this one! I always enjoy reading other bloggers’ honest thoughts and experiences, so hopefully you enjoy mine! No sugar coating here!

Week 9

-Feeling a little bit better, pretty tired at night still, but was able to take a few long walks over the weekend.

-Same cravings and aversions as weeks 6-8.

-I’ve been waking up once or twice in the night to go to the bathroom, which I’m assuming is now going to happen the rest of my life!

-Flew to San Diego…didn’t throw up on the plane, praise Jesus, but the whole trip was certainly exhausting. On the final flight of the trip, I was so tired and so miserable that I just wanted to lay on the airport floor and cry! Ha!

-Threw up pretty much every morning in the hotel, but other than that, we had a blast!!!

-Adam lied to his uncle and told him I had “stomach issues” whenever I had to run to the bathroom during dinner one night. Hahahaha. I guess it’s kind of a stomach issue??

-Managing morning sickness while in SD was like a delicate balance of always having food in my stomach, timing our meals, staying hydrated, and resting. I think I overdid it on the last day though – we took a pretty long walk and it was mostly in the sun, and I think I got overheated and dehydrated. Needless to say I felt awful for the majority of the trip home.

Week 10

-Day 1 has been a little rough..threw up this morning, struggling to stay awake at work, but expected it from getting in so late last night.

-Our first ultrasound is on Wednesday, March 25, and I am super excited/anxious/nervous/scared/thankful!

-Ultrasound went great!!! HR of 168. I also weighed 127.8, up just 2.5 lbs since our last appointment. In my mind I’d really gained like 15 lbs. I’m so ready to get back to eating healthy foods!!! So far it’s been a feast of nonstop carbs. I’m really not too concerned with weight at this point, I just want to make sure I do keep an eye on it and stay in a healthy range.

-Currently LOVING nacho cheese Doritos, mexican food (still!), pizza, salt & vinegar chips, honey teddy grahams, blueberry muffins, and vanilla milkshakes (NOT chocolate!! Ew!) Still pretty much eating crappy dinners every night. It’s such a battle that I almost dread eating dinner everyday. It’s almost always either mexican, pizza, or whatever sounds good at the exact moment. I was able to eat a couple servings of green bean casserole one night this week though, so yay for veggies! Something I seriously haven’t had since probably week 6.

-Threw up just a few times this week, only first thing in the morning…pretty gross throwing up stomach bile…gag.

-Still having an aversion to coffee. The Dr. said I could have one small cup a day if I feel like I really need it, but I honestly don’t even think I could stomach it! It’s been this way since about 6 weeks. So crazy! I’m sure everyone at work has noticed the drastic decrease in coffee consumption.

-This week I’ve just been absolutely exhausted, which I know I can partially attribute to getting back from California. We decided to postpone our weekend trip to TX until Easter weekend. I really didn’t know if I would be able to handle another trip so soon. The thought of riding in the car for 6 hours just made me sick. Thank goodness for understanding family. Once they know what’s really going on they’ll understand!

-Took Phenergan one night earlier this week, and it definitely helps me sleep! It also seems to help me feel better the following day.

-This week I called and told Lauren the news!! I’d been dying to tell her for weeks, but didn’t want to share until we’d seen an ultrasound and a strong heartbeat. She was pumped! I can’t wait to tell my other best friends and the rest of our family. Adam is itching to tell all his dude friends too! This is the coolest, yet hardest to keep secret ever!

-Heartburn started yesterday (Thurs) immediately after I ate a sugar cookie at work. I’m beginning to wonder if this baby didn’t inherit its mama’s sweet tooth but instead inherited its dad’s!

-We will be 11 weeks on Sunday, and I’m determined to start the “bump photos.”

Last night Miss Truckee and I headed out for another evening stroll, and it felt PERFECT outside!We walked for about 30 minutes, and I finally got some sun on these pale legs of mine. I hope I can keep these nighttime walks up because they are really helping me feel better! Fresh air and stretching my muscles in our hilly neighborhood has done wonders.

We walked in the Asics Gel-Nimbus 17 from Finish Line. They are insanely comfortable, like, every time my feet strike the ground it feels like I’m bouncing. Not to mention they are pretty stinkin’ cute!

I think that’s about it! Hooray for the weekend! We don’t have ANY plans this weekend, and I am oh so excited about it.

    Ok, you are just too cute! I love these updates! And I’m always curious to see how peoplemodify their caffeine intake for pregnancy. Sometimes I wonder if I’d be able to handle that! 😉

      I used to think the same thing, but when you HAVE to limit/cut out caffeine, it’s much easier 🙂

      Haha right!! I don’t think I could stomach coffee anyways, but even if I could…just one would be rough! I’m glad I was limiting caffeine before I got pregnant, otherwise I think it would have been pretty tough!

    Love it! My 4th (and last!) baby just turned a couple weeks ago. It’s bitter sweet knowing I’ll never be doing this again, but it’s fun to experience it through others 🙂 Mexican food was my #1 craving with two of my pregnancies. Could not get enough spicy foods 🙂

      It’s so funny to me that mexican food is such a craving!! I would have thought it would be rough on the tummy, but it has been OH SO GOOD! Sounds like you have 4 wonderful kiddos though! That’s pretty amazing!
