Long time no speak! I took a little mini hiatus from the blog this weekend to spend lots of quality time with my husband and his parents. They came up to visit for a few days, and we got lots accomplished, mainly in the nursery! Can’t wait to share!
I also wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone to commented on my last post about what to wear post-baby! It was a HUGE help and I loved reading each comment! I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s wondered what that “limbo phase” would look like. I promise I will respond to each of your comments as soon as my pregnancy brain can focus long enough to get it done!
We are officially 28 weeks (as of yesterday) which means…HELLO THIRD TRIMESTER! (and mini heart attack)
I’m really not sure how this happened so quickly, but with showers coming up, our babymoon, and a few family visits, I’m thinking the next 12 weeks are going to go by just as fast. Eek!
Before I get too far behind, I wanted to share a quick recap of week 27!
Week 27 got off on a rough start, with a random bout of morning sickness. The past few weeks it’s been about once a week, so I’m hoping it doesn’t come back full force, but I don’t think it will. I think it’s just a combination of having an empty stomach, being hot, and not getting good sleep.
I also felt pretty emotional this week, and had one pretty solid hormonal break down which resulted in tears, husband-confusion, and asking my parents to come visit sooner than they were planning. Sometimes you just need your mom, and that time is now! They’re coming to visit this next weekend and I can’t wait! It’s been since Memorial Day since I’ve seen them, and I know both my parents are itching to see THE bump large and in charge.
At the very end of week 26, first day of week 27, we were in Oklahoma City for our nephew’s 2nd birthday party! It was a pool party, so I finally bit the bullet and bought a maternity swimsuit. It’s actually not that bad, but oh my goodness, swimsuit shopping while pregnant is probably on my “least favorites things to do, ever, list.” Props to Target for having at least one swimsuit I felt mildly comfortable in, and covered up enough to flaunt around in with the in-laws!
All in all, and other than heartburn, I felt pretty good this week. It was in the 100’s again most of this week, but I felt like I was able to stay hydrated enough, and inside enough, to avoid any excess swelling or exhaustion.
Our next appointment will be when we’re 30 weeks, and I’m curious if we’ll have another ultrasound or not. I’d like to know how she’s positioned, just out of curiosity, but I guess she can move around up until the mid-30’s??
I think that wraps it up! Day 1 of week 28 has been so far so good, so here’s to hoping for another smooth week! I’ll be back soon to chat about my first return to the gym since February!
