Annnnd here we are again. Another week has flown by!
This week was a long week. It was one of those weeks where when we hit Friday I was seriously ready for some rest. For reals. I woke up Friday morning before work and really doubted if I could “adult.” I imagine this tired feeling is only going to get worse over the next 14 weeks!
We had the glucose test on Tuesday, and thankfully we received a call that I passed it perfectly fine! Thank goodness, one less thing to worry about! Our appointment was late in the afternoon so I was a little nervous that whatever I ate earlier in the day would effect the results. But, I’m good to go! I honestly think it doesn’t matter what you eat during the day, because your body is either going to process the sugar correctly, or it’s not.
We also had our next 4 week prenatal checkup with my Dr. (actually we saw the nurse practitioner and LOVED her!) and were able to hear Adeline’s sweet heartbeat again. It was thumping away at 134, which is definitely slower than normal, but I’m thinking she must have been napping. What a lazy bum. Either way, she is still on track growth wise, and I’m prayerful that baby girl keeps cookin’ until her due date!
There were a couple mornings this week where I woke up feeling a little nauseous, but nothing too extreme. Grabbing something to eat right away helped immensely. I’ve been loving bacon in the morning, is that weird? Bacon has actually been a pretty good safe breakfast for me throughout pregnancy, as it never came back up. Is it the healthiest? Nah.
Overall, I’ve felt good this week, but definitely getting bigger. It’s amazing how some weeks have felt like there has been very little noticeable growth, and some weeks I’ve felt like she’s obviously had a growth spurt. I finally purchased a maternity swimsuit as well, which again reminded me of how big I’m getting!
My walks this week have all been pretty short and sweet, but in this heat I think it’s best to play it safe. We’ve had heat advisories almost everyday, and even if I walk past 8pm, it’s still in the upper 80’s with high humidity. I’ve been really diligent about staying hydrated, and drinking as much water as I can throughout the day, though it’s tough at work because that also means I have to get up and pee every two seconds!
Speaking of staying hydrated, this month’s Mode Contributor story is all about some of my favorite water bottles. After being separated from my beloved Hydro Flask for two weeks, I was reminded how much easier it is to stay hydrated when you have a water bottle that you love. Browse through a few of my favorites below…
Like I mentioned, the Hydro Flask is the bomb.com. I will tell anyone and everyone that they should own one! Seriously, it keeps my water cold ALL day long, which makes drinking water so much easier!
I think that wraps it up. We’ll be 27 weeks on Sunday, creeping up on the THIRD TRIMESTER!! WHAAAAAA???
Did pregnancy fly by for you? What’s your favorite water bottle? Do you struggle to stay hydrated?
