Pregnancy: Week 16

We are actually 16.5 weeks now, but who’s counting?

Here’s a quick update on how Baby Ingle is trucking along!

16 weeks pregnant

I’ve felt pretty good this week, knock on wood. I still get a little nauseous if my stomach gets empty or close to empty, so I’m trying to keep food around at all times! I can tell my energy is coming back little by little as well, since things have been easier in the afternoons at work and I’ve been taking much longer walks at night. Such a relief! We took a long walk Tuesday night, and a short and sweet walk last night, just to move around a little bit. Tuesday night, Truckee only made it 1.8 miles before I dropped her off at the house and got her (and I) some water. Then I headed back out alone and walked another mile. It was SO hot, and combined with our hilly neighborhood, I was actually pretty tired when I got in!

As far as cravings and aversions go, still mostly the same. Craving mexican food, pizza, and all the carbs, and still not wanting anything to do with vegetables, specifically anything green. I’m going to need that to change soon! I’ve also had a few more cravings for something sweet like fro-yo, and a few times recently I’ve wanted chicken and mashed potatoes. I’m currently loving iced tea as well, but not sweet tea, which is a total reversal for me. Tea has been so refreshing lately, and makes for a good change up from drinking water 24/7. So far it’s the only real caffeine I’ve had this entire pregnancy, so I’m still being cautious about only having one glass at a time, even though I’d gladly drink the entire pitcher! Oh! Side note – Adam let me have a few sips of his Dr.Pepper the other night and oh. my. goodness. Sweet nectar of the gods. Such a tease.

My first round of maternity clothes were purchased, and I ordered just a few basic tee’s and tanks from old navy, a pair of jeans (still need to try them on!), and a pair of denim shorts from Target. It’s a start, and a lot of my normal clothes are still fitting for the most part, with the help of a Belly Band my sister in law mailed me! Talk about a lifesaver! That thing is pure genius and makes me regular jeans WAY more comfortable!

I think that about wraps it up! This week hasn’t been a major update week, and I don’t feel like there was too too much growth either. I think right now my main struggle honestly is eating enough calories throughout the day, especially the “extra” ones I’m supposed to be consuming. Even though I’m hungry all the time, my stomach still will only let me eat small portions at a time, otherwise it just makes me feel sick. So, this weekend’s and next week’s goal is to space my meals out throughout the day, and try to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals, instead of trying to eat just a bigger lunch or dinner. We’ll see how it goes! I imagine once I pass the 20 week mark and baby REALLY starts growing, my appetite will come back full force!

Thanks for following along!

So glad to hear you are feeling better! You are such a cute momma! I will be racing in LR on the 16th–hoping for good weather that doesn’t make allergies flare or lungs burn. Keep it up, Sarah! You’re doing great!

It went very well! Solid time for being in injury-recovery mode. I ran the River City 5k, which combined with Girls on the Run due to course flooding. It only misted during the actual race!

Haha seriously so many are pregnant! You look so cute. I just made another big maternity clothes order this morning. I need some capris and shorts fo rthe summer. I hate spending too much money on things, but I do need them to get through. Hoping my two pairs of jeans last one. I am also on the hunt for maternity shirts, but I feel like none are perfect for right now? Like they aren’t cute to be showing off my bump I hardly have, ha. Oh the struggle!

The struggle is real! I wore a maternity tshirt this weekend for the first time and even though I’m sure it looked fine, I still wondered if I was big enough to really warrant it yet?? However, the comfort level far exceeded any worries 😉

Thank you! It has popped for sure! It’s such a weird feeling too, like I can tell there’s more than just organs in there now! Is that weird??

Bah! So many pregos. It’s crazy!! It definitely seems to come in waves, this whole baby business. Even at work, two weeks after I announced mine, another person had been keeping a little secret too!

My gosh, thank goodness my tubes were tied last year or I would worry lol. Although I’m done having babies, it’s fun reading about everyone else’s pregnancies 🙂

Surprisingly, I haven’t felt nearly as hungry the past few weeks as I was in the beginning. Don’t get me wrong… I still eat all day long, but I don’t feel as ravenous. I’ve only bought a few maternity things. I actually was just looking back at my 15-week picture and cracking up at how big I thought I was then! I don’t want to buy too much until I’m actually really a giant. I think I’m big now (at 26 weeks), and I can only imagine how much bigger I’ll get! The shirts I wore pre-pregnancy that were too big are now almost too small and it’s totally freaking me out.

Oh, and PS. I didn’t feel Baby Bum move until closer to 22/23 weeks. You could definitely feel your baby earlier, but don’t freak out if you don’t! It doesn’t mean anything is wrong. Now I feel her all the time! 🙂

Haha! I actually just told Adam last night that it feels very odd to watch myself get bigger and bigger week by week! Such an amazing yet slightly creepy miracle 😉 And that is so good to hear! It could very well be a few more weeks before I feel anything! I can’t wait to start feeling it though! I bet it’s just amazing!!

Hearing that you’re starting to get back to normal is SO relieving to me! We’re 15 weeks and I was still with my head in the toilet this weekend, wondering, “will it ever end!?” Your bump is ADORABLE! I love that little Ingle!

    xo!

Haha! Bless your heart! I know EXACTLY how you feel! I threw up twice last week still! We’re 17 weeks now, and I do think week 16 was a turning point, as far as like, intensity and the puky feeling goes. I think those two occasions were because I let my stomach get to empty those two mornings on the way into work. I imagine you will start to feel better in no time!!! Fingers crossed!! And I can’t wait to find out what Baby Rose is!!! AH!
