A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to try out a pair of resistance leggings from Physiclo. You read that right. These leggings have resistance bands BUILT INTO THEM. Talk about an easy way to ramp up your workout. Or in my exhausted new mommy case, every step I took felt like a workout!
Physiclo makes compression tights for men and women, including full length, and capri length. The special elastic built into the tights acts as resistance bands around your legs, making each move a little bit harder. The patent pending technology increases muscle activation by 23% and calorie burn by 14%. Physiclo also just recently completed a new study on using their tights to improve marathon and half-marathon performance. They followed 37 runners over 10 weeks and found that people who trained with Physiclo saw a significant improvement in finish times compared to those who didn’t! (Why didn’t I have these during my last marathon training???)
As far as the material – it is moisture wicking and breathable, which is fantastic because these tights are anything but lightweight. They’re pretty hefty, but the second I put them on I could tell they were doing something.
We took a family stroller jog to get the full effect, and I tried to channel my inner Olivia Newton-John.
It could not be more perfect.
“Let’s get physiclo…physiclo…I wanna get physiclllloooooooooo.”
You know you love it.
To cool down, we stopped at a park down the street to do a few extra bodyweight exercises. I used Adeline for some extra weight and I’m a little embarrassed by how much harder she made it! Girlfriend is heavy!
On a scale of 1-10, how awkward do I look squatting? As awkward as I think I look? Probably, but Adeline loved it.
On our way home, I was amazed by how much harder it felt simply walking and pushing the stroller uphill. It’s pretty crazy, and I would love to implement these into my training when I get back into racing!
Now for YOUR chance to try Physiclo! They have graciously agreed to give a pair of their resistance leggings away to one Sweet Miles reader. To enter, simply use the widget below. Winner will be announced a week from today. Good luck!
Have you ever heard of Physiclo? What tricks do you use to make your workouts harder?
The next time I wear them, I’ll try to remember to post a snap. Follow me to see them in action –> sarah_ingle1

June 7, 2016 at 12:07 pmI would love to have these workout capris! As a 4 week postpartum mommy, I’m ready to step up my workouts, start running, and become stronger so that I be the best mommy to my little girl! Also, I’ve been reading you blog for probably 2 years now and this is the first time I’ve commented- I’ve loved reading and hearing about your pregnancy and Adeline as I’ve recently became a mommy just 4 weeks ago!

June 8, 2016 at 5:07 pmI have a 3 month old and sometimes the only way to workout is a stroller walk. Having leggings with extra resistance would be such a great addition to walks!

June 13, 2016 at 9:13 pmOh my gosh, I would love to have a pair of these! It is such a pain to lug all my weights/bands outside with me and my sixteen pound baby, so it would be super handy to have resistance bands built in!!
