Past Baby Posts I’ll Be Referencing

It’s so funny how different it is being pregnant the first time, as opposed to the second time while also parenting a toddler. I can’t believe I ever thought I was tired that first time, or ever complained about not being able to rest! I surely did not know what it truly meant to be tired! I also apparently had all the free time in the world on my hands and blogged just about every single detail throughout that pregnancy. I posted weekly bumpdates, and everything in between. I’m so thankful I did though, because it’s been fun to look back and compare.

Speaking of looking back, I’ve actually been looking back specifically at some of the posts I wrote during those early newborn days. I don’t think there’s any better way to remember what it’s actually like than to read my own account and memories. Those days are so, so hard and I’m trying to mentally psych myself back up! I’m honestly feeling pretty good about it though, because this time I know what to expect. I know how quickly it passes, and to not sweat the small stuff.

I thought I’d share a roundup of some of my favorite posts I wrote back in 2015-2016 as I navigated those first few months in newborn land. Feel free to pin or save for later as well!

Happy Friday! We’ll be working on getting B’s dresser built, and starting to organize a few things. We also have a shower on Sunday, and I’ll be sure to recap it next week.

Oh! And our 6 year anniversary is on Saturday! Crazy!

Hi Sarah! I came across your blog while pregnant and I read so many of these posts back then to keep me sane – I just wanted to say thank you for these, especially the breastfeeding post (I was more afraid of breastfeeding than giving birth…). It was so helpful to hear SO many different POVs, and it’s really something I thought back to often during my breastfeeding journey.

    Congrats on baby number 2!
