Our Modified Babymoon Weekend

It’s date night time, ya’ll! We are so, so, so, so past due for a solid date night and I can’t WAIT to spend some quality time with the Mr. We’re actually going a step further and sending Adeline away to grandparent camp for the day/night for her very first sleepover. She’ll be spending the night away from home by herself for the first time ever, and although I’m a little nervous about it, it will be good practice for when she has to stay somewhere during Barrett’s birth.

We were going to do a legit babymoon and actually leave town, but then we both decided we were too tired to even mess with planning something. Then we thought maybe we’d just get a nice hotel room in downtown Dallas and do a mini-staycation over the weekend. But THEN we decided we have so many expenses coming up that we’d rather take the money we were going to spend on a hotel room and instead spend it on something we need right now, and just send Adeline to her grandparent’s house and pretend like we’re child-less for the day. Ha! How lame are we. Or maybe that’s just the definition of true adulting? Either way, we’re determined to treat ourselves to a much needed date night, and date day the following day to relax, and re-energize while we have some free time! Dating your husband is crucial to a happy marriage, but my goodness it is tough to find the time once you have littles!

And truth be told, I honestly just wanted one night before the baby comes where I didn’t have to worry about doing the bedtime routine!

Flashback to our babymoon before Adeline.

So, my plans for the weekend include unplugging, hanging with my husband, and celebrating him BIG on Sunday for Father’s Day!

What are your weekend plans?
