OOFOS Recovery Footwear Review

Hey ya’ll!

Almost through another COLD, winter week! I’ve got a review for a product that might warm you up, and get you excited for spring and summer temperatures!

But first, let’s talk about this week’s only workout. Or workout that wasn’t.

I went to the gym to attempt to run off my hamstring problem from Saturday’s poopy run. Or if not run it off, at least loosen it up and stretch it out enough to get a short run in. Well, it didn’t go well, and I could only muster out one 8:49 mile, while slightly limping, but not really limping. Obviously things are still off so I threw a tempter tantrum in my head and decided to just do a few weights and leave. At least I tried! Sometimes your body just doesn’t want to cooperate, and it’s never fun when that’s the case!

I stretched my little heart out, and iced it when I got home. I don’t think I have enough patience to stretch properly and long enough! Still working on that whole patience thing.

But, while I iced I watched NBC’s special on preparing for the Olympics! Whoop whoop! Who else is super pumped about Sochi?! Did you watch last night’s first night of coverage?! I just love everything about the Olympics. So many dreams, and so much hard work and preparation finally come to fruition, and it’s amazing. What an awesome feeling that must be to be “an Olympian” and compete against the world’s best! The games always leave me feeling inspired, and in such awe of what athletes are capable of! The opening ceremony is tonight, which unfortunately I will have to miss. Pretty bummed about that, but thank goodness for the internet!

Ok, onto today’s review!

OOFOS Recovery Footwear + Flip Flops

OOFOS contacted me several weeks ago asking if I would be interested in trying out their product, and after a quick visit to their website, I said YES PLEASE!

OOFOS Recovery Footwear is made of a special impact absorbing “Oofoam” material that is super lightweight, and incredibly comfortable. The footwear has excellent arch support, absorbs 37% more impact than normal shoes, and reduces fatigue, thus making them an excellent recovery shoe. They are even machine washable! Their slogan is “feel the OO” and it’s so true! When I put them on, I instantly felt like the pressure was taken off my feet and hips, and my feet felt like they were made to wear these flip flops! I felt like I was walking on air, they are seriously so light.

I’m a pretty big flip flop snob, so to find a pair that not only make my feet feel better after a long run, but that also support my feet properly, is a winning combination.

After Saturday’s 15K, I wore these around the house all day and to run errands, and I was thoroughly impressed! I didn’t want to take them off because walking around barefoot was less comfortable than wearing these. My feet and legs felt rejuvenated, and that’s exactly what you want after putting that stress on your body!

When I first opened them, I thought for sure I would feel like I was wearing a moon shoe, or think they were too tall, but that was not the case. I will definitely be wearing these after every long run from here on out, even after other workouts.

OOFOS come not just in this flip flop style, but also in clogs and slides! You can check out the styles HERE.

In addition to black, they come in several FANTASTIC colors! I am still dying to see the hot pink or teal in person…LOVE!

So, lightweight, cushy, flip flops with arch support? Sign me up!

Would you try OOFOS? Have you ever heard of the brand? Have you ever tried them on? What color would you prefer?

And just a reminder, Nashville’s Hot Chocolate 15/5k race is NEXT weekend! Have you signed up yet?! Don’t forget to enter NASHMUG5 to receive a free hot chocolate travel coffee mug!

I would totally try those! I’m really not a huge flip flop wearer (I more associate them with not showering barefoot while overseas than anything) but I love that they aid recovery, and I’m pretty rough on my feet anyway.

I LOVE me some flip flops!!! I’m going to Texas next weekend and besides my bathing suit, I’m THRILLED to wear flips every day! I like the idea of those flip flops! Sound like walking on clouds after a run! haha
