Happy day-after the 4th! I hope you’re recovering from your festivities and family affairs! We celebrated on Monday so we could spend the actual holiday relaxing by the pool and stuffing our faces with leftovers, and I think it’s safe to say we did the fourth right.
As you know, we’ve been at my in-laws, and alllll the cousins are also in town (7 under age 7!) so it’s been a packed house, full of cousin lovin’. Adeline has been having the time of her life, while her mama is exhausted trying to keep up with her. I swear she’s aged 6 months in the past 6 days trying to keep up with the big kids and it is equally heart warming as it is heart breaking. She’s been chasing after them, trying to ride their bikes, climbing on everything, trying to climb in her packnplay, running around the house as lightning speed, screaming just to be loud, pulling her wagon, and trying to literally everything on her own because apparently she’s little Miss Independent now. I don’t want my baby girl to grow up any faster, but it sure is fun watching her play along!
On the house front, we OFFICIALLY close today! Done. Gimme the keys, gimme the house, I ain’t ever movin’ again. Of course, I say that now. But really, I couldn’t be more excited to get into the house and put this process behind us! I’ll keep you updated.
I thought I’d pop in and share the photos we snapped during our cookout Monday night. The 4th of July is also the same week as 3 family birthdays, so half the cookout was 4th of July focused and the second half was birthday extravaganza. Not a bad deal, I’d say!
Happy Birthday, America!
How did you celebrate the 4th?
