Good morning! How was your weekend? Did you notice the tiny makeover the blog got? I’m a big fan of change, and I was itchin’ to change something!
We spent the majority of the weekend cleaning the house, and organizing our garage. It feels so good to start the new year off un-cluttered and squeaky clean! Saturday night we drove up to our college town and went to my old suite-mate’s wedding, and it was so fun to get dressed up and dance a little with the hubs. That doesn’t happen often!
I didn’t run any this weekend, but am ready to get back into the groove of things tonight! A little over a full week off after the marathon and my legs are ready to get moving again. If you missed it, I signed up for the Little Rock Half Marathon on March 2nd, and I’m hoping it will be a great PR race for me this year! I’m planning on taking advantage of the cooler weather to help keep those times down!
Today’s post is a product review AND a giveaway!!
When MaxFlow Sports contacted me asking if I would be willing to try out their headbands I was super excited. I LOVE a good headband, and I’m all for trying out new brands! The owner, Steve, and I turns out actually graduated from the same college, confirming that once again, this is a TINY world! He was extremely nice, and sent me a pack of two different headbands to try out, the same thing but just two different styles. I even got to pick my colors, how great is that??
MaxFlow was started upon noticing that his lacrosse players kept complaining about their headbands slipping off their heads. He did some research, and realized there in fact was not a technical headband out on the market that was designed to be non-stretch and non-slip. So, after a year of intense development, the MaxFlow Cross-Grip Hairband was born!
Straight from their website: “Our proprietary, patent-pending Cross-Grip technology has unleashed the latest in science for hair control, no matter what your game. Most headbands slide, stretch out, and generally are a nuisance, but the latest head band from MaxFlowSports solves those problems through it‘s revolutionary innovation. Our Cross-Grip technology really does keep the band in place, and our special band compound helps it to return to it’s original form, even over time.”
A good headband that stays on your head, doesn’t slide off, and one that you don’t have to bobby-pin, is a winner in my book. I wore these around for several days before writing this review, wore them to the gym for a run, and was very impressed at how well they stayed on. I’ve had similar looking headbands in the past, but the cross-grip technology truly does help it stay on MUCH better! I almost kept waiting for it to slide off so I kept grabbing at it out of habit, but each time I checked on it, it was still exactly right in place! Fan-tastic! It fits tightly, grips into my hair for a solid grip, and goes back to its original size after you wear it.
They come in a variety of colors, but of course I’m partial to the hot pink and the houndstooth!
I even took a short run with Miss. Truckee the other day, and knew that the true test of this headband would be rough housing with her and constantly bending down, running and stopping, and on and on. Proud to report, my MaxFlow headband stayed on the entire time!
