Making ’30’ The Year of Beautycounter

Happy Friday!

I wanted to jump on today and share with you all a super exciting announcement. But, it’s an announcement that I’m honestly a little scared and nervous to make. Making a leap like this is completely out of my comfort zone, and makes me shake a little in my boots. It’s going to push me in ways I’ve never pushed myself before.

I’m on the brink of entering a new decade, with my 30th birthday quickly approaching. (I turn 30 in March! Ah!) And, I have come to the realization that it’s time to put on my big girl panties, and do the things I’m most passionate about, worry less about what others think, and push judgement to the wayside.

It’s no secret I prioritize my health, and try really hard to live a truly well-balanced lifestyle. Fitness has always been very important to me, and since starting a family, taking care of myself physically so I can be there for my family in the first place, has been non-negotiable. Sure, I may not run as much as I used to, but I strive to make healthy choices, and be as active as I can when time allows. One area though that I’ve always struggled with since become a mom, is self-care and taking better care of my skin. But, ’30’ is going to be the year of ME and the year that I clean up my skincare routine, establish healthier habits, and take my health, and my family’s health a little more seriously.

I’ve decided to join Beautycounter as a consultant. (Again!) Beautycounter is on a mission to advocate for change in the personal care industry, and strives to get safer products into the hands of everyone. They are advocating for more regulation surrounding the usage of harmful ingredients in beauty and skincare products. Did you know the United States hasn’t passed a major federal law to help regulate the safety of the ingredients in our beauty and skincare products since 1938? Did you also know the United States bans the use of a measly ~30 harmful ingredients, while the European Union bans nearly 1,300? If that doesn’t blow your mind, and make you think twice about the beauty industry and the safety of the products you use on your skin everyday, I don’t know what will. The beauty industry essentially has free reign over the ingredients they use in their products, with lawmakers and the FDA hardly batting an eye. The fact that toxic chemicals can legally be used willy nilly, is sickening. Beautycounter is committed to using only safe ingredients in their products, and has prohibited the use of 1,500 questionable or harmful ingredients, using their Never List.

After loyally using their products for over three years now, I’m proud to be a part of this movement, in order to not only protect my skin, but my family’s skin. It’s time to step up, be bold, and demand better for myself and my little family. We all, men and children included, deserve better when it comes to our skincare. We deserve to live in a world where we don’t have to think twice about the products we put on our skin on a daily basis. We deserve to live in a world where we don’t have to worry about our makeup wreaking havoc on our hormones, or our endocrine systems due to toxic ingredients. We deserve to live in a world where we are educated, and informed, and have the ability to make safer choices for not just us, but for our most precious loved ones.

Our skin is our largest organ. Did you know that? We only get one shot at taking care of it. It ain’t gettin’ any younger, that’s for sure. It matters what we put on it, because what we put on our skin, can have lasting effects on our entire body. If we’re going to take care of our diets, our fitness, our mental health, it only makes sense to also take care of our skin.

As a mom of two, I can’t sit back and ignore the fact that the beauty industry is one of the most unregulated industries out there. I can’t sit back and carelessly use products on myself, and my family that contain ingredients that are PROVEN to be harmful. Proven to have lasting negative side effects, and even proven to be linked to infertility, cancer, and endocrine disruption. I want my daughter to grow up not having to worry about the toxicity of her makeup. I want her to grow up feeling confident and empowered to make safer choices. I want her to grow up in a time where her beauty products aren’t an endangerment to her health.

Beautycounter is the real deal you guys. Their products are UH-MAZING and I’m completely obsessed. Sometimes “better for you” products are just meh, and don’t really work, but Beautycounter stuff is legit, ya’ll. And, they’re a company who’s in it for the long haul – for social change and advocacy. Their mission is from the heart, and is something I think all women should get behind. Especially if you’re a mama. Think about the products that are on your skin, and how often those products get rubbed off on your baby’s face, or your toddlers hands. Taking better care of your skin, is also taking better care of their skin.

So, here’s to cleaning up mine, and my family’s skincare, and arming ourselves with powerful knowledge. 2019 is the year I’m finally putting my foot down on using trash products. 2019 is the year I’m being brave, and advocating for better. 2019 is the year I’m taking on a new adventure, an adventure as part of an MLM (gasp!). 2019 is the year I’m taking a stand for my family’s health and pouring my energy into educating others. 2019 is the year I hope YOU will join me in promising to try harder – for ourselves, and for our loved ones. We can do better, and it’s time to make the clean swap for better beauty.

If you’re interested in learning more about the toxicity in your everyday beauty or skincare products, I’m always down to chat. I’d love to have a conversation, and learn together. I’m no expert, and am truly just getting started. Feel free to email me, at sweetmilesblog@gmail.com or sarahingle.bc@gmail.com.

If you’re interested in also becoming a consultant because you too feel passionate about advocating for better beauty, I’d be more than happy to chat about that as well. Let me let you in on a little secret – consultants get 25% off their products. If you’re like me, and you’ve been using Beautycounter products daily for over three years now, that 25% is a huge help!

I’m not here to build an empire, or recruit everyone I know to join my team, or get rich quick. I’m simply here to share with you my passion for Beautycounter, and I hope that I’ll be able to at least open your eyes, and plant a seed. In fact, you may have noticed this is the SECOND time I’ve joined as a consultant. That’s how much I care about this company. The first time I joined, in January 2016, I just wasn’t at a good place after having Adeline and never really felt like I could put into it what I wanted to. This time though, not only has Beautycounter grown and evolved, but I’ve grown too.

I’m excited to share more soon, and can’t wait to dive deeper into which products I love and use on a daily basis, and which ones I’m getting for my husband and kids.

If you want to help support me on this new journey, I’d love it if you would take a second and head to Facebook and ‘like’ my new page – Beautycounter With The Ingle Family – Safer, Cleaner, Better. I don’t want to spam everyone, so if you’re interested in learning more, this is where I’ll be sharing everything.

And as always, nothing is changing with Sweet Miles. It will still be motherhood focused, with plenty of cute baby photos to go around!

Have you heard of Beautycounter? Do you care about the safety of your makeup or skincare products? Are you interested in learning more?
