Happy Friday! It’s been such a great week so far, and it’s only going to get better as we get to celebrate one more Christmas this weekend. We’ve been super lazy this week, spending most of our time in PJs (praise hands for working from home!), and have yet to pick up the aftermath that is leftover from a very excited three old opening up her presents. There’s a mess in just about every corner of the house, but this week I’ve embraced it and loved every second because it means a whole lot of happiness and joy have been goin’ down up in here!
I’m sharing just a few fun things I’m loving lately, and would love to hear something YOU have been loving lately as well. I feel like with Christmas comes lots of new discoveries and special gifts, so do share!
Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree
I feel like I’ve reached a new milestone in adulthood: a faux tree! I’ve been wanting some sort of greenery in our house to put in the corner of the dining room and I finally decided a faux fiddle leaf fig would be perfect so I put it on my Christmas wish list. And, I was so excited to actually receive it!! My in-laws found the perfect one, as well as the perfect pot to put it in. I love how it brings a little bit of life to the dining room, and is something different. Plus, it just looks nice.
When I was in 5th grade, I went to my very first major concert – *NSYNC! They brought their No Strings Attached tour to what was then known as Adelphia Coliseum, where the Tennessee Titans play and my dad took me and my best friend, on a school night! It was everything a young girl obsessed with her favorite boyband ever hoped it would be. (Back then you were either and NSYNC girl or a Backstreet girl, duh!) Flash forward however many years and Justin Timberlake as we all know has had just a little bit of success 😉 He’s on my top 5 list of favorite celebrities, so OF COURSE I had to get his book! Adam surprised me with it for Christmas and so far, it’s great and full of awesome photos and stories. Definitely a coffee table book worth buying! If you’re as obsessed with JT as I am, I know you’ll appreciate it too.
I recently received these pens as a work gift and I love them. They’re basically the same as the felt pens that Paper Mate makes, but instead Amazon Basics makes them and they’re way cheaper. I can’t way to use them to dive into my 2019 planner!
Made by Mary Mama + Co Necklace
I posted this already but I just love it so much!! I’ve had my eye on this necklace since before B was born because I knew I wanted another necklace to represent both babies. It’s perfect, and I know I’m going to always cherish it. I wore my ‘A’ necklace almost every single day since I got it after A was born, so I know this necklace is going to also get plenty of wear out of it. Something about having both of their initials around my neck is just the most special thing.
Bird Box on Netflix
Ohhhh man if you haven’t jumped on this apparent bandwagon, GET WITH IT! It’s so good. Like, so, so good. But, only if you like psychological thrillers and scary-ish movies. Sandra Bullock is amazing, and truly performed the heck out of her character. The movie itself is pretty gruesome, and scary because of how real it feels, and because there are young children involved, so if you are sensitive to scary things with kids, you might have a hard time watching it. I think it’s worth a watch if you’re looking for something new! Warning: there’s plenty of profanity though, so don’t watch it around little ones.
Bonus: The Limbo Week Between Christmas and New Years
Most of all, I’m loving this limbo week. It feels like even though it’s busy with Christmas festivities, end of year deadlines, and getting over endless sickness in our house, it’s also a great time to reflect back on the past year, slow down, and start looking toward the new year. I have lots of mixed emotions going into 2019, like so many emotions, but I’ll dive into that in a future post.
What are you loving this week or lately? Any fun plans this weekend before NYE?
