A Little Snow Day For The Memory Books

This weekend was one for the memory books. I mean, nothing crazy or anything, but definitely one I’ll chalk up to favorite moments of 2017 so far. On Friday, central AR got our first snow of the season, and needless to say everyone was pretty excited! It wasn’t much, but just enough to cover the roads and close schools and many businesses. You see, in the south, a dusting, maybe an inch or two, is enough to shut.it.down. I know northerners think it’s hysterical, but we are proud of the little snow we get down here!

In years past, we’ve gotten much, much more, but you know what they say, “global warming.” (Flashback to the year we bought our house – the first month we were moved in, an actual blizzard snowed us in for almost a week!) This weekend’s snow was the perfect amount to stick around for a few days and let Adeline play her heart out. Adeline’s actual first snow was last year, and we actually got several inches! She was just a wee little babe, so of course she couldn’t really experience it. Friday’s snow though, she loved walking through it, hearing it crunch beneath her feet, and staring at its beauty. It took a whole half-hour to get her layered up, and we stayed outside for maybe 5 minutes, but those boots, and that puffy coat, and that fuzzy hat, and those mittens she hated wearing – all worth the effort. I loved seeing my girl experience one of my favorite things, and I’m crossing my fingers we get a BIG snow sometime soon!

I mean, can you just eat her up or what?!!! I can’t even. I could squeeze her to pieces and still want to squeeze her more!

Other than our snow festivities, we spent our weekend around the house – cleaning and organizing, drinking way too much hot chocolate, and having a fun game night with some friends. (Cards Against Humanity, anyone? Mama’s gotta have a wild and crazy night every now and then!) I also made some DELICIOUS cookies, which I’ll have to share on the blog soon. They were kind of a clean-out-my-pantry recipe, but oh so tasty.

I’m gonna need lots more weekends like this in 2017. So relaxing, productive, and stress free!

How was your weekend? Did you get snow? Do you usually get snow? Are you in the north and totally laughing at what we like to call snow?

Oh my goodness, we have not reached that magical milestone yet! I’m sure the day she realizes she can eat it she’ll be in heaven! You guys get SO much more snow than we do, I can’t even imagine!

Bahaha! Adeline wasn’t a fan of being cold, so she didn’t last as long as it appears either! 😉 And I will!

Sort of super jealous of everyone’s snow lately but also not really. It’s hard to decide. I AM super jealous that you get to buy cute snow clothes and boots for A! Something I won’t be able to do for C for years probably! HER COAT!!! So adorable.

    Please share the cookie recipe!

Haha I am sort of ALWAYS jealous of your proximity to the most beautiful beaches EVER! The grass is always greener 😉 Lets trade places one week! But yes, winter clothes on littles are really super cute! However, it takes forever to get all those layers on! How long do you think you guys will stay in Hawaii?

Awww her snow outfit is too cute!! Kids look extra cute when they’re bundled!! I’ve lived in PA my whole life and I’m so tired of snow I can’t even beleive it. I think my hatred gets more so every year. I hope to move somewhere that doesn’t see snow or at least only sees it for a day or two and not much all at once. Give me some sunshine and avocado trees hahaha

Hahaha! I think my husband would LOVE to live further north simply so it snows more and is actually cold! I think if you lived down here you’d feel the same hatred towards the humidity, ha!

I love those pictures of Adeline – so sweet! It has been so cold here (single digits over the weekend!) so although we had some snow, I didn’t want to take Jack outside. It is supposed to be 60 on Thursday.. So crazy!
