Oh hey there!
I hope your weekend was as MARVELOUS as mine was!
My weekend was pretty marvelous. Friday night, as you know, we attended Little Rock’s Taste of the Finest. We got all schnazzied up, sampled some tasty food and drinks, and felt like Mr. & Mrs. Fancy Pants.
Why that uploaded sideways I am not sure, but I will fix it tonight! So for now, please enjoy our dressed up look, horizontally.
The evening began with a silent auction, and samplings of delicious local eateries and drinks. After some eating and mingling, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation made a moving presentation in which they said this evening alone had raised nearly $80,000! Our hearts were happy that so many people had shown their support to such an important cause, and were excited to tell our little niece’s mama about the event!
The 24 top young professionals in Little Rock were then presented and it was truly inspiring to see what these young people had accomplished before age 29. And, I just want to point out that out of the 24 presented, ONLY ONE had a graduate degree, that we noticed. They all had bachelors, and some of their bachelors were in subjects completely unrelated to their work. PROOF that you don’t HAVE to go to grad school to succeed. We were happy to see that.
The food was delicious, and we left feeling overly satisfied. Here are a few things we enjoyed:
Veal, salmon, goat cheese, and macarons!
*Note, I tried to recall accurate facts…might have to double check me!
Saturday morning, Adam went up to Searcy to pick up his new fishing sunglasses, and I went out to the lake for a 7 mile run. Arkansas likes to play mean tricks on us, and by that I mean, it’s once again hotter than Hades. I told myself I would make it an EASY run, wouldn’t put pressure on myself by looking at my Garmin, and would just go with the flow (and the heat/humidity) and be proud of myself no matter what for accomplishing my 7 miler. I’m still looking forward to cooler weather when I know I’ll be able to really maintain the splits I’m looking for.
All in all, it felt good to get in another long training run, even if some walking, grunting, and whining was involved.
The rest of the day Saturday was spent running errands with Adam, and spending time together. We talked recently about how we need to do that more often. You’d think by being married we’d spend LOTS of time together. And we do, but I’m talking just mindless, lazy, and quality time together, even if it’s running errands and shopping together. He kindly obliged to accompany me to the land of milk and honey, i.e. Hobby Lobby. I have been itching to decorate my house for fall and stock up on the necessary decor. Luckily, Hobby Lobby currently has all of their “autumn and harvest” seasonal decor set at 40% off! HOLLAR! Can’t wait to show you my cheesy decorations. Think: pumpkins, lots of brown and orange, cute owls, sparkly pumpkins for a vase, etc.
Saturday night we had another cookout, this time with 3 of our favorite married couples from school. Ok, one couple isn’t married yet, but might as well should be! We kept things simple and had everyone bring something to pitch in. Adam grilled chicken tenders and roasted garlic, and we added buffalo chicken dip, fruit, salad, cheese, sausage, and lemon bars for dessert.
Sunday morning, Adam and I went to church then came home for a lazy afternoon. I spent most of the day editing photos and finally making two photobooks I’ve been meaning to make since our wedding! I LOVE making photobooks, and it’s the perfect way to preserve and display your photos without printing off hundreds of loose prints. Plus, they’re fun to design, so go figure I’m in heaven. Previous scrapbooking queen right here, folks. The first book I made has all of the photos from our 1 year anniversary trip, and the second has ALL things wedding…dress fittings, 3 bridal showers, lingerie shower, bridal portraits behind the scenes, bridesmaid luncheon, rehearsal, and rehearsal dinner. I can’t wait to get them back, and finally check it off my to-do list. These pictures are priceless when it comes to the memories they contain.
The “Becoming Mrs. Ingle” photobook is pretty epic…I think it ended up being about 50 pages, whereas the other photobooks I’ve made are closer to 25. I use Snapfish, though I really prefer Shutterfly, MPix, or Blurb for personal photo projects. The first book I ever made I used Snapfish, and I’m trying to keep everything similar looking so I just haven’t switched over. They’re 40% off right now if you’re interested! If you want a REALLY nice photo album, I’d be more than happy to make you one of my “professional albums!”
And now, let’s talk a little about what the rest of the internet is talking about.
That’s right. *Nysnc reunited on the VMA’s, and it was well worth the “weight.” Bahaha.
I have read approximately 9,473 articles this morning about the Nsync performance, and how Justin’s 4 fellow Nsync’ers were looking slightly heavier these days, and out of breathe. Bye, Bye, Bye, was more like, Buh Bye.
But, aside from how hard they tried to bring it back, my little teenage heart was still so happy and I couldn’t help but squeel a little. Ok, a lot. Nsync was the first concert I ever went to in fifth grade. I still vividly remember my dad taking me and a friend and how draining that must have been on him! Ha! Oh Nsync, I just still love you. Thanks for making my day!
I snapped a photo just to make sure this was really happening. You better believe this will go into my “do not delete” folder. Don’t lie, you’re thinking the same thing! We all miss the boy band days!
I won’t even go into my opinion on Miley Cyrus. There are no words. Except for maybe gross, that one will work for now.
God is Good, All the Time.
My brother and his wife finally made things official! It’s now public knowledge that they are having a baby in March! I’m ECSTATIC to be an Aunt (on my side of the family) and I am counting down the days until they find out if it’s a boy or a girl! This comes after many, many prayers and happy thoughts, and my family is so thankful and blessed!
And for some more good news…
I got a new job!!! I won’t talk too many details just yet, but it’s good, and I am super excited, and relieved that I can now ENJOY my job! Talk about answered prayers! God is SO good, and ALWAYS knows what’s up!
What good things happened over your weekend? How is your training coming along? Are you an Aunt?
