SKOOP Review + Giveaway

This post is sponsored by SKOOP.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by this new startup company in Boulder, CO about testing out their product! And by new startup company, I mean, they’ve totally got their you-know-what together and are killing it in the marketing department! So when I checked out their super sweet website, and just about died over the design, (as well as the amazing Skoop facts), I happily agreed to try it out.

Let me introduce you to my little friend, Skoop.

Skoop, or Healthy Skoop, is a plant-based powder mix of “super simple superfoods.” They promote the idea that “you are what you absorb” as opposed to “you are what you eat.” Which really is a brilliant concept, and makes perfect sense. Especially since your body can’t utilize nutrients unless they’re actually being absorbed. Superfoods have the best absorbability for our bodies, and are the easiest way to get micronutrients and phytonutrients into our system. And because accessing true superfoods, in their purest form, isn’t exactly the most convenient task, Skoop developed a super simple solution!

Skoop A-Game.

A-Game is, “a surprisingly tasty, nutrient dense Superfood powder – rich with antioxidants, probiotics and adaptogenic herbs that reduce inflammation and acidic build-up, increase energy and resilience, and supercharge your immune system’s ability to fight disease.”

Check out this mini-graphic for a visual representation for what goes into making the A-Game mix:

Fun fact – in each scoop of Skoop, there are 10 servings of fruits and vegetables! BOOM!

AND, Skoop is also gluten-free, as well as non-G.M.O.

Inside the package Skoop sent me was this ridiculously cute info card containing the 10 Reasons to Drink A-Game, as well as their promotional booklet that explains how they came to be.

They also sent a blender bottle, and some handy stickers.

The large bag you saw above was the Chocofresh flavor and contains 30 servings. And these little guys below are single servings of the Sweetgreens flavor. How cute would these be as little stocking stuffers or gifts?? And gold ribbon? They seriously outdid themselves. Be sure and check out their 5-day challenge as well.

I recruited Miss Truckee to help me model my new product. She really brought her A-game to this picture, don’t you think? See what I did there? I rarely can catch her smiling, so this was just too adorable not to include. I’m selfishly hoping one day she’ll be famous.

Let’s chat about the actual testing out of Skoop now, shall we?

The first time I tried Skoop, I went the simple and recommended route: a scoop of Skoop + 8oz of water or almond milk. My husband tried it with water, and seemed to enjoy it. I tried it with water, and couldn’t quite handle its’ strength. Then, I tried it with almond milk and had a much better experience! The taste of powdered superfoods is pretty potent, so if you aren’t used to that it can be a bit of a shock. But, just think about all those nutrients you’re getting! So amazing!

I decided to go one step further and blend it into some homemade soft-serve. This blog is called Sweet-Miles after all, so I had to do something sweet.

I simply took my go-to easy smoothie recipe, and added one level scoop of Skoop, then blended together like a smoothie, and froze.

Then, in true Sarah fashion, I sprinkled on a small handful of mini dark-chocolate chips, and ta-da! Superfood Soft Serve!

Here is when I tried out the Sweet Greens flavor with 8oz of almond milk:

Don’t let the color deter you, it actually does taste sweet and just feels healthy going down!

I’m anxious to try sprinkling it into my oatmeal, or even baking with it. Their website says you can easily mix in Skoop to muffin or brownie batter! I’m thinking the latter sounds right up my alley.

Now for the fun stuff!

Sweet Miles is now a Skoop certified distributor, and you can visit my Skoop site to purchase at a discounted rate. You will be able to purchase the 30 serving bag of A-Game Chocofresh for $10 off!

The kind folks over at Skoop have also offered to do a giveaway for my readers! One of you will win a bag of A-Game Chocofresh as well as a Skoop blender bottle.

I want to try Skoop because it is so hard to eat healthy food and get those nutrients as a teenager. I’m really trying to make my training nutritionally balanced as well as training physically!

Did you take the 5-day challenge? Did you grow a cape? I’ve been reading quite a bit about Skoop, but would like to know what folks felt after taking it. I love smoothies, but survive by coffee, it would be nice to add something truly healthy to my regiment that sustains me throughout the day.

Hi Tom! Haha, no, I did not take the official 5 day challenge 🙂 I have heard GREAT things from people who have done it though! I didn’t grow a cape, but I’m imaging you would! Even my husband said after he tried it that he just like instantly felt healthier!
