Happy FriYay + Picking Paint Colors

Happy FriYay!

Popping in later than usual to share the paint colors I’m thinking for our new house. We close on both houses next week, and move into the new one on Thursday, so it is CRUNCH TIME!

We’ve got a painter coming next week to paint the downstairs as well as the master suite, and I think I’ve finally nailed down what colors I want. I’ll test out some samples first of course, so these may not be the exact colors, but so far I’m feeling really excited about my choices!

I probably won’t be blogging much next week as it’s going to be stressful, emotional, and down right exhausting. But, I’ll check in when I can. Follow along on Instagram to watch our journey, and see sneaks of our new house! (@sweetmilesblog)

So for the downstairs I’m thinking something light and neutral. – Light French Gray

For our master suite, including our bathroom and closet, I’m thinking something also neutral, but a little darker and warmer. – Perfect Greige

And for the laundry room, I really wanted something fun and exciting. Our new laundry room is just off the garage. So to enter the house through the garage, you walk through the laundry room. For some reason I’m really loving the idea of a mint green color! – Mint Condition

What colors would you paint a new home? Do you lean towards neutrals? Greys? Beiges? Whites?

we painted every inch of our house when we moved in. I did mostly neutrals so I could just change accents and never paint again. hahaha I did color in the kitchen and bedroom. love light teal for the bedroom, so relaxing. keep the bathroom neutral so you can just swap out different towel colors!!

I like mostly neutral clothes and adding the pops of color and fun through decorating. That way I can change it more often plus I just feel it is safer. Now saying that we go have a pretty bright burnt orange wall in our living room =)

I really love mint and grey! I had to stop myself from wanting to buy a house that was not at all right for us just because it was painted these colors (and looked a little like an Antrhopologie inside…). Good luck with the move!

Haha it can be so tempting to fall in love with a house bc of how it’s staged! So true!

So fun! We are doing grey exterior, and then a super light grey interior. I like a fresh blue for the bathroom!

Ooh I love the mint! We had our entire house painted, minus the upstairs bathroom, in the light french gray and I’m obsessed with it. It looks so good and not too blue or beige. It’s hard to find a good gray that doesn’t lean too far in either direction, but that one is really good.
Good luck with everything this week! I was so stressed/emotional during our move too, but I feel like I’m finally coming out of my funk!
