This weekend was a big one, and I didn’t open my laptop a single time. We travelled home to be with my family for my grandfather’s visitation and funeral, and I’m so thankful we were able to spend plenty of time with everyone, unplugged. It was a tough weekend, and somewhat still doesn’t feel real. But I think everyone is making it! My grandfather’s services were beautiful, heartfelt, dignified and classy. He would have been very pleased. My grandmother, and our family, were blessed with a steady stream of friends at visitation, as well as at the funeral – he sure was loved! I know he made an impact on so many people’s lives. His burial included complete military honors, and a flag folding ceremony. He earned every second of it, and I’m so proud to have been his granddaughter. If you’d like to read more about his life, you can read it here. I won’t be sharing any photos from the services, but I did take some because I know Adeline might want to see them one day.
On Saturday, we got out of the house for some fresh air and a little distraction. We headed down the road to a local favorite, the Gentry’s Farm! I have lots and lots of memories here, and it was so special to be able to take Adeline! Although she refused to smile in just about every photo, she really did have a great time! She’s such a stinker with photos sometimes, which is just my luck. We noticed on Sunday morning that her two bottom teeth had FINALLY broke through so I’m wondering if that’s why she was less smiley than usual?? She loved the extra time with her Grammy and P Daddy, and I think they loved it too. I put Adeline in her new pink Chuck Taylors and oh my goodness, I just can’t – they’re so cute!
Here are some photos from our pumpkin patch outing to start the week! I’ll be back tomorrow, hopefully back on track! I feel like I’m so behind! I’ve got some SERIOUS gym goals this week, so wish me luck.
Thanks for the well-wishes and kind words!
