GapFit & lululemon: a review

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! Wowzers, I can’t believe tomorrow is the start of a brand new year! In many ways I feel like I still live from summer to summer, but maybe I’m not far enough removed from college life yet. 2014 is going to be a BIG year, I just know it. I have so many running goals, and blogging goals, and business goals, and WIFE goals, I can’t wait to see what’s in store!

I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who read and/or commented on my 3 Bridges Marathon Recap post!! I was blown away by all of the congratulations and sweet words, I can’t even say thank you enough!! Slowly but surely I’ll get around to responding to each comment! I hope that at least one person out there was inspired to chase that marathon dream as well. You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to, if you put in the hard work, your hard work will pay off!

I’m not nearly as sore today as I was yesterday, and yesterday wasn’t nearly as painful as Sunday was. Sunday was awful! Whew, glad that recovery day is over!

Today’s post is another running gear review! These are actually two gifts I received for Christmas from my mother-in-law, and I just love them so much I had to share! Just call me Gap and lululemon’s personal marketer. I know I’ve talked about GapFit products previously, but I am addicted. And my favorite lulu headband I received in another color and I am so pumped!

Let me introduce you to:

GapFit Elements Stripe Hoodie in Charcoal

Retails for $59.95 both in stores (I’m assuming) and online. I’m wearing a Small. The color is “charcoal” but it’s actually more navy looking!

GapFit Elements Stripe Hoodie

It is fairly thick and warm, and the back-inside is fleece lined, as is the inside of the hood! It fits perfectly, not too tight, but tapered enough to not make you  look boxy! And once again…

I think I’ve worn it 10,000 times since I received it, and I can’t put it down. It’s now my go-to “wear to the gym” hoodie, “wear around the house with yoga pants”, and “road-trip” hoodie!

lululemon Swiftly Headband

You’ve seen me talk about this headband before and how much I love it, not just for working out but also for casual wear, so I super excited to get it in a new color! I originally bought the “heathered black” color posted on the website, but for Christmas I received it in the prettiest blue! I had no idea it came in more colors!

It’s comfortable, and has plastic gripping on the back to help it stay on. For running though, I have to secure it with a bobby pin, but other than that, it’s great! Cute headbands are a MUST for lounging around the house or heading to the gym! Or running errands like a crazy lady on Christmas Eve like me 🙂

The Swiftly Headbands retail for $14.00. Such a great “just because” gift idea for running friends!

P.S. Did you hear I’m an ambassador for Nashville, TN’s Hot Chocolate 15K/5K on February 15?! Here’s a sneak peak of what could be yours if you sign up using my promo code: NASHMUG5

I’ll have all the deets ready for you on the blog in a few days!

What running gift are you loving right now? Interested in running the Hot Chocolate 15K or 5K in Nashville?

Your Gap hoodie looks just like a lulu, it’s adorable! I just got my first piece of GapFit for Christmas, excited to take it out for my last run of 2013! I wish I lived closer, I’d totally do that run – that mug is super cute! We don’t have any fun “Hot Chocolate” runs in Nor Cal…or that I’m aware of 🙁 Happy New Year’s and enjoy the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014!!

Mary- Girl, you’re so fast you might win the race 😉 Love GapFit too, so glad I tried it out, it really is SO much more affordable than some other brands!

I’m loving my new Lululemon PaceSetter (although I haven’t had a chance to wear it yet, because of the freezing 50-something degree temperatures), and my new iPod.

Hope you have a Happy New Year!

After I left that comment I looked up the other races and there is one in SF. Just a little sooner than I was planned for 🙁 Next year, it will be added to my list for sure! I’m not sure what piece of Gap Fit I got – it is a long sleeve, quarter zip, hoodie, running shirt (I think). It was a little snug for a medium, but I loved the color and feel.
