So this one time I fell in love with a new (to me) brand of socks, and then I swore I would blog about them, and now it’s two months later and I’m just now getting around to it! Ah, life! These past two months have been nothing short of a whirlwind, and once Adeline’s party weekend is behind us, I think I’ll feel like I can breath again.
Back in August, I graciously received the opportunity to try out two new pairs of Feetures running socks! Now, I may not be up to speed in the running world at the moment, but back in my day (spoken in old man accent) I had a huge collection of the best running socks! I have always been a big fan of brands like SwiftWick, Smartwool, Drymax, Thorlos, and Pro Compression to name a few, but somehow I got away with never trying Feetures! WHERE HAVE THEY BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! They’re a new favorite, and I don’t take that lightly!
When I look for socks to work out in, my two main requirements are:
- Are they snug as a bug in a rug? I love for my running/biking/whatever socks to be tight fitting, no bunching, and almost like they were made for my feet. I’m also pretty prone to feet cramps, so bonus if they’re technically compression socks!
- Can you see them? Are they low cut? Do they hit just below the ankle? If yes, they must be perfect! I look ridiculous in those socks that sit up above the shoe line, or maybe that’s just my own thinking, but I like my socks to be mostly no-show, if possible! (Unless we’re talking about tall compress socks, then of course they’re up to my knees!)
Feetures! Sock Review: Elite Ultra Light + Elite Max Cushion
So, first are the Ultra Lights. They are super thin, just the way I like them, provide targeted compression, help eliminate blisters, and are moisture wicking. In plain terms, ha! These are my favorite of the two – I love how thin they are and it feels like you’re not wearing anything. Several of my running shoes run small on me so wearing a thinner sock really helps!
And next, are the Elite Max Cushions. I would consider these the more comfortable of the two, just based on cushioning. They are definitely thicker, but not too thick. (I definitely prefer the thinner ones though.) The Elite Max Cushions also have polyester fibers to make them softer. They have the same compression as the others, but mainly are just more plush.
Both come in lots of pretty colors, which is always a plus! There’s nothing worse than plain white sweat-stained socks! Even though they’re a small part of your fitness attire, the cuter the better!
