Favorite Valentine’s Day Books For Littles

I think one of my favorite traditions to partake in during each holiday now that I’m livin’ that mom life, is the tradition of picking out a fun holiday book for each of my kids. (Man does that still feel weird to say…kids, plural!) I love picking out cute little treats and goodies too, but picking out a book feels so much more practical. Besides being able to read it year ’round of course, they also start to acquire a collection and every time that holiday rolls around, it’s fun to dig out those special holiday books and really soak up the season. It’s also a great way to hone in on the true meaning of the holiday, and talk about it in a way that’s easier for them to understand.

I started doing this with A when she was a baby, and now she’s got at least a couple for each major holiday that’s gone by. She’s got Christmas books, Halloween books, Easter books, and even Birthday books. Now that B has joined the party, I’ve been trying to remember to pick out holiday books for him as well. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I’ve already got one picked out for each of them, and plan to gift them early so we can read them together before the actual holiday. Today, I thought I’d share a roundup of other Valentine’s Day books for littles I’ve seen that caught my eye, as well as some of our favorites we currently have on hand. I usually pick up our holiday books as cheap as possible – Walmart, Target, Amazon, even places like Half Price Books or the Dollar Spot at Target have great ones. They don’t have to be fancy to feel special to your kids. I always joke that I may not have time to go all out for every holiday, but I’ll always try to have a new holiday book on the shelf and holiday dish towels hanging in the kitchen. Ha! Small wins, my friends.

If you’re looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day books for your kids this year, here are my picks!

So sweet! Love a good holiday-themed book for littles. 🙂 Definitely going to pick out a couple for J and S to open on Valentine’s Day. I think Savannah would be really smitten with that Minnie Mouse book!

It looks so cute! There aren’t a TON of Valentine’s Day books out there, definitely not as many as like Christmas books, but I’ve spotted some cute ones 🙂 I’ve been trying to find some ‘big girl’ ones for A too, because so many of them are board books or too-baby for her!
